Incredible Doctor -
All three of my children have had issues with their knees as teenagers - two of my children tore their ACL's and the other developed OCD lesions due to sports. Dr. Switzer did the surgery on both the ACL's and did an amazing job with each child. He explained the procedural approach he planned to take, which method he would use to replace the ACL (3 options - patella, hamstring or cadaver) and why he felt the approach planned to take was best for each situation. Both recovered tremendously! For my son who battled OCD lesions he was honest in why he felt surgery wasn't a good fit and recommended we give his knees time to heal. He said we would be disappointed short-term because we would have to miss many months of my son's favorite sport but long-term we'd be happy because if you can avoid surgery that generally is the best approach. He was right and my son's knees healed up perfectly with time and regular check-ups with Dr. Switzer monitoring all the way. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Dr. Switzer is going to find himself in trouble one day with his approach to medical practice. I had elective surgery with him to remove a bone spur on my right shoulder that stuck right up with a shark-tooth like form. He did not remove the bone spur. It exists on my shoulder today exactly as before. I tried to confront him about it nicely, but he seemed irate about the assertion that he had performed the surgery incorrectly. Interestingly, I had a chance to speak with the assistant surgeon privately during my follow-up appointment. I was suspicious of a screw-up in the surgery because of the way the healing area of skin felt and the assistant surgeon at first confirmed my suspicion, saying they had removed bone from a different plane (essentially the front of the shoulder blade instead of the top). This was a needless area to remove. Essentially, I lost money and time. Dr Switzer wouldn't admit to the issue or provide reconciliation. This occurred in May of 2019.

Dr Sweitzer is great doctor and great at explaining surgery procedures. In less then a week I'm walking around my house without walker. This is far beyond beyond my point doectations but one that is challenging for PT. Great bed side manner.
