Dr. Lakshmi Mukundan, MD

She is an excellent physician with all the qualities needed to meet that standard. She has been my Dr for a year. Highly recommend.

My first visit was telehealth. She is very thorough and patient. She explained everything to my understanding. I’m pleased to be her patient.

This was was first telehealth appointment with Dr. McKundan. It went well and we were able to follow up with the changes we made from my last visit in March. I was very pleased that Telehealth visits are being offered at this crucial time, and plan to continue using this type of service since I am at a vulnerable age. Since moving to Central Texas from Houston, Dr. Mukundan is the best neurologist I’ve seen and want to continue receiving care from her. She is and has been an excellent neurologist.

I think Dr. Mukundan is awesome and would refer any friend or family member to her. She does take time with her patients, probably much to the dismay of the patients in the waiting room.I too, have had to wait hours at a time to see her. I get the frustration, but I like her and trust my care to her. I also love her nurse, Cecily. Top notch!

She’s very knowledgeable and has great bedside manners. She’s extremely patient and makes every effort to make sure she has the right diagnosis for your condition.

the average wait time is NOT 30 minutes, but 2 hours and they don't care. I drove over an hour to get there only to have to wait 2 hours past my appointment time. All they did was make excuses and were not willing to help. Don't waste your time. They are late EVERY time I go no matter what time of day

The Dr has a happy demeanor and does explain things well. She never seems rushed even with a room full of waiting patients. I have had several problems with the front office staff. I have to leave a threatening voicemail in order for them to return my call. There is no follow up about prior authorizations (PAs) when denied. When I questioned them, they acted like they didn’t know what I was talking about and made up excuses. I had to tell them several times to contact my insurance over several months for 1 issue. As a healthcare provider, I know about PAs and I was lied to several times because they assumed I didn’t know about the process. If you need something, you have to speak up and be persistent or they don’t care. My best piece of advise is to have a notebook and document in detail about any communication attempts and what they say so you have a record. Also, double check everything with your insurance. They don’t lie.

I really like Dr. mukundan but I am having the absolute worst experience with her front office. I have put off writing this for almost 2 weeks in hopes that they would get things figured out and call me back but they haven’t and I am getting more and more frustrated and disappointed by the day. Every time I call I have to leave a message because they don’t answer the phones. They take days to return messages. I was supposed to have an MRI 2 weeks ago however it was denied by insurance because paperwork was not documented sufficiently by this office. Instead of letting me know it was denied they never called and when I called them they acted like they didn’t know until they admitted they did know and have yet to resolve the issue. I have migraines so badly I can’t make it through a single day and this level of neglect is disrespectful and beyond frustrating. She is an amazing doctor but unfortunately I will need to find a new doctor because the front office will not take me seriously.

I can highly recommend Dr. Mukundan, as she knew to send me for an EEG simply by talking to me. After the C scan & the EEG she was able to diagnose my seizure episodes and placed me on the correct medication. Also, Dr. Mukundan is so easy to talk to and has always made me feel comfortable.

Thank you Dr Mukundan for getting in a cancer patient with worrisome neurological symptoms right away. Your compassion speaks volumes. So grateful to be your patient.

After giving my mother a diagnosis of Alzheimer's induced dementia, and me finding a great home for her, I am still awaiting an admittance letter. As a result, my mother is still in the house alone, anxious to move to the home. She cares nothing for her patients.
