Dr. Laurence Lorefice, MD

During my first (and only) consultation with Dr. Laurence S. Lorefice, I experienced what I believe to be a clear violation of my HIPAA rights. As an adult, my health information is protected under the HIPAA, which prohibits covered entities from disclosing protected health information (PHI) without explicit, informed consent. None of the exceptions applied in my case. Dr. Lorefice also belittled and gaslit me and was condescending, invalidating, and dismissive, often adopting a tone more appropriate for a therapist, even though he is not one. This incident has led me to question how many other patients may have been placed in similarly unsafe situations by Dr. Lorefice's actions. I find this conduct to be deeply inappropriate and dangerous, and I believe this review is important to warn people that he is not professional and was in fact harmful to me.

A kind, caring doctor who wants you to get better.

You’ll never find another doctor like Dr. Lorefice. He is “so rare” because he always knows what to say to snap you out of a funk and is at the top of his game with pharmacology. He Is caring,dedicated, and talks to you like you as if you were his only patient. He returns phone calls very promptly, and for all the time I’ve known him, I’ve never felt judged by him. Dr. Lorefice is clearly knowledgeable about all the current therapies available and really listens to the patient in order to find the one that best suits them. He has a calm and intelligent demeanor that doesn’t rush nor judges.

I have seen many psychiatrists ad Dr. Lorefice is the best by a long shot. His manner is calming and kind. He is a true EXPERT in pharmacology and very in tune with new and different therapies. He speaks with you and not AT you. He provides alternatives and involves his patients in the decisions that are best for them. I can not say enough positive things about him. He has stood by my side in very difficult situations and he saved my life.

Dr. Lorefice is like part of the family. He has been my caring and attentive doctor for over 20 years. He is always on top of his game, always gives great patient service and is 100% dedicated. In those few times when I needed support in the time of a crisis he always responded and his advice and counsel has always been sound and very wise. I would never consider another doctor and I am proud to be Dr. Lorefice's patient.

Knowledgeable, kind, able to answer all questions and explain my condition to me with ease. Should have gone to him years ago! Life changing.

Dr Lorefice is dedicated, extremely knowledgeable about psychiatry and appropriate medications. He worked with me to get the medications with the fewest side effects. He is very responsive to my concerns and always calls me back the same day when I call.
