Poor Bedside Manner and Staff issues
After arriving on time, the staff couldn't get the height of my son correct and it took 20 mins. We were then brought into the doctor's office and the nurse told us Dr. Silverman would be right in. My son who is a Type 1 diabetic had to leave school early and missed his lunch so we could get to the doctor's apptmt on time. We asked if he could finish his lunch he corrected for before we left school. She said the doctor said okay. She shut the door and not even a minute later, the door opened and Dr. Silverman told my son to put his food away and then told us we are to arrive on time for our appointments. When I tried to explain to him we were on time and that we asked for him to finish his lunch because he corrected for it, he didn't care and told us again about time management and being on time for all his appointments. Needless to say, we will not be going back to that practice again!

Outrageously poor service by the office. I arrived with my child 15 minutes late to our appointment due to traffic. The office processed our arrival and took our co-pay. Provided 3 pages of new patient paperwork. 10 minutes later we were told that they would not honor the appointment and would only reschedule. I explained that the traffic was out of my control and I had taken the morning off from work to come in for the appointment. I was told that this was their office policy and they would not make exceptions. We were turned away. When I called the billing office to process a refund for the copay, I was told it would take 4-6 weeks to review. I informed them that the office cancelled my appointment. Once again, I was told that their policy was to process refunds within a 4-6 week timeframe. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, the call was dropped. I have no idea if Dr. Silverman is capable as a doctor since we didn't get to see him, but his office and its policies defy common sense. I wouldn't reschedule with him or anyone in the practice after this experience.

Do not waste time if you have growth deficiency
Wish I had read the reviews before I went to this doctor back in April. Our pediatrician referred us bc my son’s growth was not tracking well and he was already 12. We had no time to lose. He was rude, dismissive ordered no tests, insulted me and even my husband who was not even present to defend himself regarding his orthodontic treatment of our son when this Endocrinologist had no idea that extra spacing issues can be dealt w over time, and unlike growth issues in endocrinology, could be cured even into adulthood. It was not what I went to see him about, he digressed and then started critiquing every physical thing about my son in his face and asking me why I worried about his height and made fun of my height and insulted me. Granted I am small, but my husband is not and if my pediatrician believed it was worth the referral then run the right tests! Instead he told me we should wait. I realized time was important & went to Hackensack Meridian instead & they ran tests and diagnosed.

I saw Dr. Silverman for many years as a pediatric patient. Originally, I saw him for Graves’ Disease. He was very skilled in treating this for me. Although he wasn’t able to connect my chronic hives with graves’ disease like every other doctor did. He did a wonderful job with it. However, later I developed more endocrine issues such as PCOS. Please don’t take your daughters to him for any issues that deal with menstrual cycle, weight gain, or PCOS. He ruined my confidence and diagnosed me with PCOS but refused to treat besides telling me diet and exercise. He handed me off to a dietitian. He clearly was not skilled on this spectrum of endocrinology. Instead of being honest a recommending someone else, he continued to be unhelpful with my weight gain. I now see a female endocrinologist who has begun treating me for PCOS and helped create a didn't and exercise plan that works for my condition. I have finally started feeling better and regaining my confidence. I do not recommend him.

Dr. Silverman has been seeing our daughter for GH deficiency since 2017. Although he comes across as kooky, he knows his stuff and is very friendly!! I have only good marks for him and appreciate the time he spent when we agonized over what to do. He gently reminded us that time was ticking and checked in, I had no idea how grateful I would be for that later on!! I would recommend Dr. Silverman to anyone going through GH deficiency!
