Dr. Leila Dumagsa-McGowan, MD

I have seen Dr McGowan for a long time. Over that time the quality of the care received has dramatically declined. She does not want to “risk her license” for anything other than physicals. If you want a primary care Dr for physicals only then she is great. Anything else, once you question her you are written off and the office will make getting quality care a challenge. Her backup Dr is even worse.

Dr. McGowan is super sweet and willing to answer questions. Her exams are thorough and she has a good personality. I will definitely be returning!

Saw Dr. McGowan for a routine annual physical. She always takes the time to talk with me, to ask about and listen to any issues, problems and/or concerns I might have. She is not judgmental and always gives me straight forward answers and valuable advice. I would highly recommend Dr. McGowan to anyone.

Little to no time was spent on my questions or concerns. I did not feel as if she was listening to me or cared about my concerns or care. After the second time she asked how long I had been on a specific medication - one I have never taken for a condition I have never had - I wondered if she was even looking at the right chart. I did not feel that my medical care was important to her and I will not be returning to her.

As an on call dr for my office, she mocked/judged me. I understand that with the litigious nature of medicine combined with the epedemic of prescription drug misuse and addiction, that she made the best call in her professional judgement. However, nothing justifies speaking to a patient in pain the way she spoke to me. Instead of providing empathy and comfort, she made it abundantly clear that she had judged me to be dishonest about my condition, when it started, and the pain it is causing me.

She's been my primary doctor for a few years now but every time I go in there I feel the same warmth as a walk in clinic. Everyone looks miserable there. Doesn't provide much info on conditions so your left wondering a lot.

Wonderful doctor. Listens to me and makes me feel calmer about my issues.
