Dr. Louis Sobol, MD

He is the rudest doctor I have ever met! I have worked in hospitals for 40 years and have met many providers. Unfortunately, I read the reviews after I saw him.

I wish I had seen all these reviews too. Honestly I don’t think he likes what he’s doing for a living. He was mean. There’s no other word for it. He said to me “You come to me when your regular doctor is tired of dealing with you.” He was acting very rushed and impatient, I asked if he was going to “shove” the scope down my nose or be gentle, because of the way he was acting so rushed. He didn’t care, he said “That’s pretty much how it goes!” I don’t know why I didn’t leave then, I guess because it takes my whole Being just to get to a doctor let alone a specialist. He proceeded and told me to “hold still!” “Stop talking” & “stop saying E” which were all commands he had given me but spoke to me like a child. He was extremely rude. I had a bad head injury some years ago and am very glad I didn’t see him a few years back when it took me longer to comprehend everything. I have worked in the medical field for over 30 years and NEVER treated a patient so condescending. He should be fired!

Dr. Sobol surgically removed a growth obstruction in my ear canal. He explained the procedure and told me what he was doing every step of the way as well as what I needed to do afterwards. I am very pleased with the outcome. Staff was both pleasant and courteous.

Agree with all the comments above about Dr. Sobol being dismissive, arrogant, argumentative, rude, condescending, and a poor listener. I would not recommend him to anyone and wish I had seen these reviews before I had made an appointment with him. Terrible people skills. Do yourself a favor and find another ENT.

I agree with many of the reviews above, I wish I had checked these before the appointment. I was in the office a total of 10 minutes and that includes the time to check in and fill out the paper work. (And I was a new patient). He was very rude and really not interested in what I had to say-no smiles, no kind words. I got the impression he certainly did not like his job or his patients. Terrible experience!

He was very rude don’t have any manner treat the patient with no respect yelling and don’t respond to the patient needs and slammed the door behind him. And I mentioned it to the staff when I checked out , I never recommend him to no one .

Worst doctor. Rude and dismissive. Did a 2 minute exam and offered no helpful solutions or alternative treatments. Would not recommend him at all.

I’ve worked with MD’s for 45 years. He, hands down, is the most arrogant, flippant, disinterested and dismissive doctor i’ve ever seen. He did a very brief superficial exam, turned and told me he was done abd my symptoms were of no interest or invalid in spite of being referred to an ENT.

Dr. Sobol took the time for a through exam. I also saw Dr. Eddie who performed a comprehensive hearing test. I highly recommend both Dr. Sobol and Dr. Eddie.

Dr. Sobol was very rude and dismissive from the moment he stepped into the exam room. The first words out of his mouth were, “I don’t treat chronic cough” he did the bare minimum during the exam. Offered no solutions and sent me on my way. It was a complete waste of time and money. Please don’t waste your time with this “doctor”

I took my daughter to see Dr. Sobol. I have seen him previously as a patient myself. He was rude. He walked into the room and abruptly said 'what can I do for you'.... very curt and dismissive. I am a healthcare provider. I expect kindness and there was none.

I could hardly get my questions or comments out of my mouth before Dr Sobol would interrupt. I was like his comments were definitely more important than mine,

Dr Sobol was very rude and short with me. I only wanted to understand why I was having intense earaches after starting with hearing aids. I didn’t go there to get upset. But that was the result of the visit.

I wish I would have read these review before seeing this dr. He is extremely rude, acted like he was in a rush and ignored my concern. When the doctor entered the room, he did not knock, just pushed the door open and rudely said 'why are you here?' He pushed and pulled my head back and forth to see in my ears instead of asking me to move it and interrupted me when I was talking to tell me to go. I was in the room for a total of probably 3-4 minutes. He told me I wasted my time coming to see him because my ears were fine- I scheduled the appointment over a week previously because I had fluid trapped behind my ear drum and was told to see an ENT.I've seen Dr. Schwartz at this office and he is nothing like this, next time I'll make sure to wait till I can get an appointment with Dr. Schwartz. I left the appointment in tears from the way I was treated. Doctors should not be allowed to make people feel like trash & get away with it.

I came to see Dr. Sobol with symptoms of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). Instead of doing the simple Dix-Whitehall diagnostic test to determine whether I indeed had BPPV, he insisted I did not have this condition and admonished me for coming to his office. He was incredibly condescending and insisted I was suffering from a minor condition that should be seen by my primary care physician. He then hurried me out of his office within 5 minutes. Because of his poor advice, I ended up suffering from this condition for weeks before deciding to go to another ENT’s office where they properly diagnosed and treated me. I have never had an experience like this with a physician and felt compelled to leave a review.

I'll echo the other reviews of this arrogant nasty doctor. My husband has dementia and Dr. Sobel was rude and uncaring. He refused to treat him until my husband until he took a prescribed medication and scheduled him to return in two weeks. That was Okay but he billed for the procedure anyway. He did not attempt to work with my husband and talked only to me instead even though he was informed about the dementia. He is totally obnoxious and a disgrace to the medical profession. He doesn't even deserve one star.

Dr. Sobol is not compassionate. He acts in a hurry and is not very helpful. Maybe sensitive women like me need a different personality in a doctor. I hope he works on that because I won’t go back to him, and it sounds like this is a common theme.

He is the rudest, most arrogant doctor I have ever seen. I am sorry I did not get up and walk out. He did not listen to my concerns, did not answer my questions and his behavior was completely inappropriate. He showed no concern or empathy whatsoever. I have never encountered a doctor who was so mean and rude.

Rude and abrupt He?s arrogant, passive and dismissive. I would never let him treat my child. This was my first visit with this office, I was taking my 6yr old son in for an evaluation of this throat(my peds referee me to him). He walked into the room didn?t introduce himself. He rudely demanded to know what we were there for, as I began to explain the reason for my visit, he cut me off and stated ?that?s not what I do, you shld see the guys across the street?. As I continued to try to explain he again cut me off. At that point I was no longer interested in having him treat my son. Last I checked he was a pediatric ENT so I?m not really sure what he meant by saying this is not ?what I do.?
