I flew to Dr. Orozco from another state after being told many times that my symptoms had nothing to do with the bulges in my neck. After meeting with the doctor, he looked at my scans and immediately knew I needed surgery to replace my 2 discs and fuse them. I woke up from surgery pain free, numbness and tingling free and haven't had a migraine in months. He quite literally saved my life.

doctor appointment
I made a doctor's appointment to see a DOCTOR not get second hand information from an NP! VERY DISAPPOINTED with the visit! The office wants to play me as a ping pong ball by farming me out to 2 other doctors!! Why can't a SPINE DOCTOR GIVE SPINAL INJECTIONS INSTEAD OF FARMING PATIENTS OUT TO OTHER DOCTORS?? MAKES NO SENSE!!

Excellent surgeon with great bedside manner!
Dr. Orozco performed two different surgeries on me one year apart. Both surgeries were successful, both good experiences. He is an excellent surgeon with great bedside manners. Both my surgeries were 4 to 5 hours long, both times during the surgeries he had someone from the operating room call my husband 3 to 4 times with updates. He also has post op home care visits provided for 4 to 6 weeks with a registered nurse available 24/7 . My husband is now under his care. My only complaint is the difficulty in reaching ppl in his office for questions. However that seems to be an issue with most medical professionals these days.

Dr. I went through everything with me before surgery and after. He was very caring and an amazing surgeon. At 35 it isn’t ideal to have full blown back surgery but he made me very comfortable and made sure I was well taken care of afterwards.

Did not see Dr Orozco on first visit , saw assistant. Ordered MRI, went back & saw dr Orozco very briefly, he explained what the MRI showed, gave me a typed note on how to take medication. Sent RX to wrong pharmacy , had wrong information on file for other doctors. Sent me to pain dr without explaining what would be happening. Then called me day before appointment & said don’t come in if I haven’t had injections. Very u professional I think. I told them I had questions , she well comes. In then. This should be good!

Not impressed. I was referred by my neurologist after an mri showed a specific issue. Made my appointment and was told that I would need to fill out all my new patient ppw and bring it in. I got to my 345 appointment at 320. I wasn't seen until 5pm. At that time dr orozco proceeds to go into a long speel about how he disagrees with the radiologist my mri is normal for my age and he doesn't even see what my neurologist saw when they did the nerve test. Basically telling me I was wasting his time but that I have carpal tunnel and he can do surgery on that. That was not what I was there for. It was clear my file was not correct or he just didn't care to do the research before he saw me. Why fill out a new patient book if they don't look at that either. When I brought up what I was really there for it was, "oh that needs a different mri and another dr before I can do anything. " So, I wasted almost 3 hours to see him for maybe 10 minutes for absolutely nothing. I'm not impressed.

I did not get to visit. I was called the day before my first appointment. They left a voice mail that said I did not call back, they would cancel my appointment. When I called back, I asked if they did this for every appointment and they said yes. I canceled my appointment for them. Funny thing, I made the appointment 2 days before the appointment.

The surgery - a kyphoplasty on my father's 12th vertebrae went well. The problem was his office staff at the follow-up visit. They completely forgot my father was waiting in a room for an hour and ten minutes. He is 84. He has diabetes and is a heart patient. How do you forget a patient waiting in the room??? How do I know they forgot? They admitted that they forgot. So would we recommend the surgeon? Yes. The office staff? A definite NO.

I was referred to Dr Orozco, by my primary Doctor, after seeing another surgeon. Staff at the office was very nice and helpful. I was sent to a small waiting room after 15 min I saw the Dr. He had to review my MRI/C SCAN and other medical surgery folder. He did an exam on me ask a lot of questions and than he review the C SCAN/MRI with me. He show me what was the issues and what he was going to do, he told me what the surgery was going to be like how long it would be and if I had to stay in the hospital over night. He told me step by step what to expect and what the outcome would be. I PUT COMPLETE TRUST IN HIS SURGERY.

Dr. Orozco performed a 3-level, 360-degree lumbar fusion on me in Aug of 2018. That surgery was (and continues to be) one of the most painful and traumatic experiences of my life. My pain was never managed while I was hospitalized. I woke up from that surgery screaming. Dr. Orozco and his PA, Stephanie said they would adjust my medication but never did. I cried in pain through several nights and my nurses said there was nothing they could do because my doctor hadn’t changed my medication orders. (I’m a mom of two young children and married to a very loving husband...they’ve had to endure this trauma with me.) When I moved from Baylor Scott & White Lakepoint Hospital to a rehabilitation hospital a WEEK later, my pain was finally managed. It’s been a year since my surgery. I am now in more pain than before my surgery. Dr Orozco doesn’t believe I’m really in pain. That’s convenient for him. He has offered to put in a pain pump, but I’m very anxious to have any more procedures from him.

Dr. Orozco performed an L4/L5/S1 fusion on me. Dr. Orozco has a bedside manner that is second to none. His team at Texas Brain and Spine are superb. Dr. Orozco takes a very conservative and thorough approach to patient care. He does a great job of plainly explaining treatment options and possible risks. Being under the care of Dr. Orozco and the professionals that he trusts with patient referrals has profoundly altered my life in a positive way.

I went to Dr. Orozco for a microdiscectomy on my L4-L5 and at nearly 3 weeks my pain has gone from a medicated 5 to a unmedicated 1. It is still early in the recovery process for me, but I'm thrilled about the results so far. The wait time can run long, but is well worth it. He really listens and answers your questions thoroughly, which was very important to a first timer such as myself.

Got in in a timely fashion. Dr Orozco listens and explains anything you have a question about. He clearly explains treatment plan and choice if applicable. Pleasant. Staff is efficient at the appointment. It took several days for them to get back to me about scheduling tests but they do have to wait for insurance to get back to them first.

About Me

care philosophy

My approach to surgical intervention is to "proceed with caution". Surgery is an invasive endeavor, which should be addressed with mutual trust and respect between surgeon and patient. Therefore, when considering surgical treatment, conservative measures should have been exhausted prior to any surgical consideration."
