No!
No No No! Awful experience. I went to see Dr Lorenze for extreme pain in my thumb and numbness in my fingertips. My thumb could not bend at all. This was mistakenly dx'd as a thumb fracture by Yale ER and I was told to f/up with an ortho doc. Saw Dr. Lorenze who was extremely dismissive and curt. Said there was nothing he could do and that he saw no fracture. I explained that this happened after having had a radial (wrist) cath procedure for my heart a few weeks before . He said he doubted it was related. He sold me a $250 wrist brace and shoo'ed me out of office. I ended up seeing Dr, Moran ( five stars!) who knew immediately that the tendon was not moving thru sheath due to irritation from cath procedure. Dr. Moran gave me cortizone injection which resolved issue in 2 days. I will fight paying this bill (which arrived immediately!). My husband had warned me about Dr. Lorenze but I did not listen, but he had an identical experience several years ago with him as well.

Stellar orthopedic care and excellent follow up
Dr. Lorenze performed a shoulder procedure to repair a torn labrum that I had due to a fall. He took the time to explain the procedure to me and regularly followed up with me post procedure to ensure that I was healing according to plan. He was caring and compassionate and ensured that I understood everything at every step of my journey back to full mobility.

He left a large piece of bone after my wrist surgery causing me excruciating pain for 5 months until I had another hand surgeon remove it. He said he had no idea what the problem was. Factory environment. Patients are just cars to move to the end of the line. Avoid at all costs. Find a real doctor.

I've was a patient of Dr.Lorenze for quite some time. I have sent friends, family and co-workers to him over the years. He is not the same Dr. I remember. I've had three surgeries total by him. Almost 6 months after having knee's replaced, still in pain, walking stick legged and can't do stairs. He basically brushed off my pain. I went to another Dr. for a second opinion and left there hearing my knee's need to be replaced again. Go to a Dr. that does just knees.

Referred to this doc after an injury to my arm with some nerve damage; at first very pleasant but I did note he never really examined my arm. After three appts he decided he could not help me since I didn't need surgery. Told me he could not help me and refused to make a referral to another doctor; stated I don't know anyone in that field. Rude and unethical.

Made an appointment for a 2nd opinion. Once there, he tells me he doesn’t do 2nd opinions! His answer to my questions "I don’t know". Very curt! Waste of time.

I've been a patient of Dr Lorenze since 1999. I first came to Dr Lorenze with a shoulder injury sustained at work. I was treated and back to work in a short period of time. I was so impressed with Dr Lorenze that I have continued seeing him over the last 15 years for many orthopedic injuries . He's a skilled surgeon with a great bed side manner. I trust Dr Lorenze immensely and I highly recommend him for anyone looking for a orthopedic surgeon.

Had endoscopic carpel tunnel both wrist. Could not be more pleased with outcome- and essentially pain free, scar free. Great staff too. For once I made the right choice of providers.
