Dr. Maurice Smith, MD

Dr. Smith is wonderful. Most doctors typically treat you like a number. Not his style, he knows everything about you and spends real time with you and I got great news after my biopsy.

FHH is lucky to have such an amazing human and talented Dr. on staff. The entire surgical department reflects this. Dr. Smith is caring, personable, professional, and talented. I am honored to have my mother treated by him and his staff. He is a proud shining example of what hard work and dedication can do for anyone, especially us, minorities. Dr. Smith is an outstanding surgeon and an even finer gentlemen. He is very personable, understanding and treated me and my wife with the utmost respect. That carries down to his staff as well. He and his staff always take the time needed to thoroughly explain what is about to happen in terms that I could understand. He was very calming and reassuring during his pre-op visit even praying with me. He was in the recovery room when I woke up and spent time with me every day in the hospital. It was also reassuring to see how respected he was by the nursing staff at the hospital. Dr. Smith and his team work seamlessly with my oncologist and other doctors. I was lucky to be referred to him and grateful to have him on my medical team as I continue to fight Cancer.

Dr. Maurice Smith is an outstanding physician. During over a week's hospitalization for a serious chest/lung injury, Dr. Smith's skill and caring resulted in my full recovery. Dr. Smith is very friendly and treats his patients with the utmost respect. He explains all options and goes out of his way to make the patient comfortable. He even visits his patients at the hospital AFTER hours and tends to their needs. He is absolutely great and one can fully trust his judgement and his skills!
