Mixed Experiences
Our experience with Dr. Fernandes began at CCMC, where she proved competent. We continued our journey with her to Yale after an upsetting encounter with our new GI. Dr. Fernandes not only demonstrated interest but also discussed various tests, treatments, and alternative diagnoses to address my child's symptoms. Our optimism took a hit when we met her new colleague. Despite her prior assurance and discussion of a specific test, the colleague was dismissive, claiming the test was unnecessary. She then make us choose between CCMC or Yale. What was most upsetting was Dr. Fernandes's sudden withdrawal from our care. Despite the trust we had developed, she left us with a difficult decision, essentially removing herself from the equation. This departure left us feeling abandoned and questioning the advocacy we had believed she would provide for our child's health journey. It was a disappointing turn of events after the initial promise and dedication she had shown.

Our baby has an obvious intolerance for milk or soy formula and silent reflux, so our pediatrician referred us to Dr. Fernandes so that he could be tested and we could get some answers on why he starts screaming in pain after eating about 1.5 ounces. Upon arrival, the doctor had seemingly no knowledge on anything that could be done and refused to run tests and told us it would go away with age. Our pediatrician referred us because things should have improved already at his age. This doctor did absolutely nothing for us and didn’t seem to really to care. Beware the ratings on Connecticut Children’s Hospital website, they are all 5 stars which points to them picking and choosing which ratings show. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone if you want your baby seen in a timely manner or with any care whatsoever.
