Would not recommend
Dr. Marciano evaluated my daughter for persistent nausea and vomiting. He conducted basic blood tests and a stool analysis, both of which returned negative results. Rather than exploring further possible causes, he dismissed her symptoms and simply advised her to 'eat yogurt.'Seeking a second opinion, I consulted another pediatric gastroenterologist who took a more comprehensive and attentive approach. Through thorough evaluation, we discovered that my daughter has severe lactose intolerance—making Dr. Marciano’s recommendation particularly inappropriate. His dismissive attitude and failure to take her symptoms seriously resulted in a delayed diagnosis and unnecessary suffering.

Brilliant and personable
Six years ago, Dr Marciano's expertise saved my granddaughter's life. She was terribly underweight, could not tolerate food, and was so weak she couldn't play. StonyBrook pediatric gastroenterology recommended protein shakes and her pediatrician said to feed her anything she wanted as long as she ate. A doctor friend recommended Dr. Marciano, who diagnosed her Crohn's (unusual in a 5-year-old, which was why it was dismissed by others) immediately. Since then, she has been thriving under his care. His rapport with children is exemplary as are his availabilty and care. He walks into the room singing and knows how to make my granddaughter smile. He's a Godsend!

Not a nice man
He came in with two other people and didn't introduce himself or the others which made my daughter uncomfortable. Was dismissive when I asked questions and never I never got answers. Touched my daughter's belly in one spot for less than a second and that was the extent of his exam. Kept moving on and then was gone like the wind. Very much a snarky rude unprofessional demeanor.

The worst
The nurses and staff were fantastic, but Dr. Marciano is by far the worst doctor to go to. Not only was he unable to explain my child's condition, but he has absolutely no bedside manners and was utterly rude to me and my child. We will definitely not be returning for follow-up.

Disrespectful doctor
My husband and I took our daughter to see this person and he was very abusive in his manners and behavior. He belittled and insulted me with cruel remarks in front of my daughter and husband. He went onto criticizing my religiousness and not knowing Hebrew as well as mocking my cultural background and my relationship with my husband who tried to defend me. He told me in Hebrew and Yiddish to shut up and that disgusted all of us. We were afraid to say anything to him and my daughter was horrified and fearful of him. I don’t know what right he had to talk in such a despicable manner to us which was unprovoked, but this will be reported to his superior.

Performs a very transactional experience and does not inspect patient thoroughly or at all. Did not answer questions when asked and rudely left the room without finishing conversation, stating that he would see the patient in two weeks - resulting in our cancellation of the appointment. I would advise against bringing your child to this person.

I would NEVER EVER come back to see this physician! My son was about 9 months old at the time, he was experiencing projectile vomiting after each feeding from the time he was 5 months old and when we came to see Dr. Marciano he basically disregarded any concern I had, not only that I wanted him to referer my son to have a pyloric ultrasound to rule out pyloric stenosis and he blantantly dismissed that option by saying no he doesn't need it and instead he prescribed Ranitidine 2x a day and said have a nice day and walked out the room. I have been to many doctor's and this is by far the MOST DIFFICULT AND CONDESCENDING physician I have ever encounter. I would NEVER recommend anyone to him or his practice, too bad zero star isn't an option because that's what he deserves.

Dr. Marciano has been seeing my daughter for a year now due to being diagnosed with Biliary Atresia. Although the office wait time can be long, it doesn't change the fact he is a great doctor. I am willing to wait. He was able to accurately diagnose my daughter's condition and linked us with an excellent child surgeon. My daughter got the life saving surgery at 5 weeks old with Dr. Marciano's quick action to get her tested and getting the result soon. He answers all my questions very well. During our hospital stays he was consistent with checking up on us. He is friendly and approachable and set us realistic expectations and good explanation. He has even answered my late night calls in the beginning when I had concerns. Thanks Dr. for everything!

I would give him no stars. Not only did he not address my daughters and my concern he basically never even checked her. My daughter came in with severe stomach ahes. Dr. Marciano said she needed to lose weight and made her cry. I would never ever bring her back or subject anyone else to this Physician. He should never be practicing medicine and is a disgrace to the profession. He needs better table manners.

My daughter saw Dr. Marciano for over a year. She had an endoscopy that confirmed chronic acid reflux. After the endoscopy, Dr. Marciano told me he saw white patches on the esophagus. I asked what they were and he kind of shrugged and said maybe inflammation. We continued to see him and he continued - with no progress or success - treating her acid reflux with a terribly strong and high dose antacid medicine. After another 6 months, we needed to get a second opinion. We saw another doc who asked to see the slides from the endoscopy Marciano did. She took one look and she identified the white patches as a fungus. She took my daughter off all antacid medication and treated for the fungus and my daughter is healed. She was on this terrible medicine for over a year unnecessarily. I am so thankful I looked for a doctor that truly dug into the issue and solved the problem. Very disappointed in Marciano. Nice guy, but not a doctor that really looks for resolution.
