Dr. Meredith Mayo, MD

Dr. Mayo is terrific! Besides, being an excellent fixer of broken parts, she is warm, friendly, understanding, and sympathetic. Furthermore, she has a wonderful sense of humor. I actually look forward to seeing her no matter what my problem may be.

I've had a great experience with Dr. Mayo and her staff, from my initial diagnosis ('you've got a lot going on with that shoulder...'), to surgical repair of both a rotator cuff tendon and bicep tendon, to the subsequent follow-up appointments with both Dr. M and Lindsay Baumoel, PA. They have been very thorough in assessments and answering my questions as I have made my way through physical therapy and on to full recreational and fitness activities again.

First shoulder injection by PA did not resolve my severe arm pain. Dr Mayo has directed another approach to deliver medication to the biceps to avoid surgery.

It was my 1st post op. She is very knowledgeable and supportive of my med needs. I'd 110% recommend Dr. Mayo for any surgeries relating to the knee.

Dr. Mayo was punctual, personable, and seemed quite competent. She asked appropriate questions and gave me a lot of space to share my experiences and concerns.

This was my 6 week postop visit from my shoulder surgery. Dr. Mayo has excellent bedside manner. She listened to my questions & gave answers that were easy to understand. She gave me a layout of my future recovery, including PT and future follow up visits. I am looking forward to continuing my recovery with her as my doctor.

I thought I could get additional steroid injections in my shoulders, but for a variety of reasons it isn’t advisable. She explained why and gave me an additional option…a lubricant injection.

Had surgery it went well

I’m so relieved to have found Dr. Mayo! New to the area, I’m rebuilding my extensive healthcare team, and I needed an orthopedist who could finally solve the shoulder, elbow, and carpal tunnel pain that other drs have been chasing down over the past 4 yrs. I was able to get an appt quickly, and Dr. Mayo did not disappoint. Being a medical family ourselves, my partner and I are very attuned to a dr’s expertise, knowledge, manner, and patient care. Dr. Mayo exceeded expectations on all accounts. She asked the right questions, listened and answered our questions and concerns, and together we came up with the best plan forward. She could have thrown more steroid shots in me, which wouldn’t be safe, pushed more pain meds, or jumped to invasive procedures; however, she carefully laid out a plan and timeline to get to the bottom of what’s causing my pain in the safest, most appropriate manner. Drs who are conservative in their treatment (aka, slow to cut) are the ones we want!

I was able to get a quick appointment. after checking in there was minimal wait time, and registration was easy. Dr Mayo was pleasant and thorough on initial consult. I highly recommend her for shoulder injuries or pain.
