Should not be working with people who need help
I visited abrazo’s ER with severe pain in my abdominal area. I had been to urgent care and was sent to the ER to run some test that they were unable to do. This man came into my room and made a choice, instead of trying to help me he chose to lecture me about using a curse word as a modifier to express my pain when I was explaining how I felt. The last thing he should be doing is wasting my time lecturing me because he’s “offended” by my choice of language. GROW UP! I’m offended that I went to get medical help and was instead treated like a child. I got up, took my things and left. Went to a HonorHealth facility where they were able to diagnose me with a intestinal blockage and not one time gave me any notice to any particular language that might be “offensive” because that wasn’t what the situation called for and they did their JOBS. I’ve always been kind. I’ve never been rude to any medical person. I was scared and in pain and wanted help. He absolutely did not help.

Not my job!
First time visiting abrazo Peoria ER. Dr Hickman was the replacement to the overnight physician asst who originally saw my mother. Recommendation from dr 1 was to wait for transport to main campus. At 10am, when we hadn’t had an ETA on placement at main campus, I asked for an opinion from dr Hickman since her numbers were improving. Turns out, he had washed his hands of the case since we would eventually be “transported” to the main hospital. Nurse said that we could be there all day and beds are hard to come by. Literally said we may not get a bed for over 24 hrs. So I guess that means he didn’t have any responsibility for however long we may be in that initial ER hospital. I called my mom’s doctor in Omaha and he called me back in 3 mins. Told me to take her home after I shared #s. Wished I would have known Dr Hickman wasn’t going to help at all bc I would have called omaha about 3 hrs earlier. Left AMA (which is ironic) since he didn’t even meet, look at or say hey to us!

I fell and hit my heat on a hard surface floor resulting in a visit to the unit on Lake Pleasant Road. Dr. Hickman closed my wound with 15 self-absorbing stitches. I thought he along with rest of the staff were competent and took good care of me.

Total lack of compassion and patience for people in crisis. In short, a jerk. Why is he in the ER?
