Dr. Michael Messina, MD

Dr Messina took the time to discuss my condition and the causes for it. He explained the treatment options there expected results and we discussed a plan for me that I feel comfortable with. I like that he felt treatment was a better then surgery at this time. Surgery is inevitable but keeping me active now was his first priority.

Dr. Messina recently completed a knee surgery to reattach the quadriceps tendon to my kneecap. Very thorough in discussing what the surgery would entail, as well as in what steps would be necessary for physical therapy to regain the strength and mobility necessary to get the knee functioning correctly again. Dr. Messina is also very personable and a great listener. I'm very pleased with the result of the incision, which looks light years better than the photos of the same surgery that I researched on the Internet prior to my surgery. Five stars all the way around. The best!

Excellent Dr.,has a lot of compassion, and give me all the options available for my care. The staff are also terrific!

Best doctor around!!! I had two knees done, we took the route. I was walking then I was not. I struggled to get into office July 2020. I got cortisone shots till it could not help. Dr Messina told me “it’s time”! Well fast forward to April 1st 2021, surgery, perfect replacement! Went to physical therapy with Dr Anjoray Smith! That was such a pleasure! I was getting strong worked it out everyday it hurt but I was in good hands! July 2021 number two total knee replacement. Went perfect again! Did all the exercises kept going! When you see your doctor walk in and smile because he is so happy with your progress and you are so grateful? It does not get better than that!! The care I received! Dr Messina Thank You! We got shoulders next and I know with you as my doctor I will be absolutely fine!

Dr. Messina and his entire staff made sure that my patient experience was perfect (shoulder injury). His team was efficient, communicative, caring & courteous. Dr. Messina is brilliant, compassionate and has personality. He is extremely thorough with his review of the issues and takes time to explain “best practice” treatment options. Dr. Messina answers your questions and he calls you back when you need him. 5+ stars for Doctor Messina and his outstanding team!

I visited Dr.Messina on 1/16/2020,with a shoulder problem,being a truck driver the nagging pain was at times,very bad.I received a shot of cortisone,with a mixture of a numing medication,I ran 1 trip and the pain was still there,will get an MRI this Thursday,then back to Dr.Messina the following Thursday,hopefully it will show what is wrong.

My son broke his arm and the ER swore he would need surgery. Dr. Messina took the time, answered all of our questions and opted to cast it instead. Healed quite nicely with no surgery. He is absolutely amazing at what he does and his staff in the Limerick office is just as awesome!!

Dr. Messina is extremely knowledgeable and left us with no questions unanswered. He took his time to explain every detail of what was going on and all possible options for treatment and care. He made us feel very comfortable with our treatment decision. He is also very down to earth and easy to understand. Thank you Dr. Messina!

Dr Messina was excellent!! After visiting the largest chain of Ortho doc around, and having an injection in my shoulder joint ( Frozen Shoulder ), I got no relief AT ALL!! Dr Messina took the time to explain to me why it did not work, and a few days later had me under X-ray, getting the needle inserted into just EXACTLY the right spot, by a specialist. I was pain free for at least several weeks, which I knew upfront was going to be the case. Dr Messina is nice, and a great Dr.!

I tore my rotator cuff- I was very leery to use anyone besides Rothman because I play competitive sports. I researched Dr Messina and read lots of good things. 3 1/2 months after surgery and I have full range of motion in every plane . Was one of the smartest decisions I’ve ever made to go with him for my surgery. He also repaired my upper bicep tendon which was damaged when I tore my rotator cuff. I’m already lifting weights again-

Dr. Messina is amazing, caring and compassionate. I seen 3 doctors and all they did was gave me a pill and out the door they sent me..I went to the E.R and they referred me to Dr. Messina. Dr. Messina was my last hope. Dr. Messina performed surgery and now I am out of the pain.. I was in pain for months and my shoulders is back to the way it should be. I could not be Happier and more Thankful.. THANK YOU Dr. Messina

Dr. Messina was a life saver for my elbow! He is professional, personable and was able to identify and treat my injury right away! I continue to recommend him to anyone who asks for an orthopedic doctor!

I went in to see Dr Messina for tennis elbow. I literally could not pull laundry out of the washing machine. He spent a ton of time with me first confirming it was tennis elbow then letting me know my options. Since treatment i feel like a million bucks!! Not only did he help me but then i sent my tennis partner to see him and he took great care of her.

I highly recommend Dr. Messina. My 9yr old son got injured on the playground at school and I got a frantic phone call from the nurse. I was obviously upset when I called Valley Forge orthopedics and I was able to see Dr Messina. My son was in a lot of pain when we arrived and with his calm bedside manner, he got down on eye level with son and assured him he would be ok. I was very impressed with his knowledge and patience with a very scared boy. Thank you!

Dr.Messina Was very professional and helped me get back to my self after dealing with pain in my shoulder for years!

Do not go to this DR! I had routine meniscus surgery over 4 moths ago & can't walk without a cane. Was told that I now need total knee replacementt. Has not been thorough with my condition- I had to read up on line and go in & ask questions about knee . I could get appointments, but I felt that I was never truly told why I can't walk & was told to go see another specialty doctor. Rather than try to work out the problem, I was passed on with my knee pain, inability to walk, & cane.
