Biography: Dr. Rihn graduated from Duquesne University in 1998 with a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Theology. He was the Valedictorian of both the Bayer School of Natural and Environmental Sciences and the McAnulty College of Liberal Arts. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 2002 where he was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Medical Honor Society. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh, and a Fellowship in Spinal Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Dr. Rihn is an Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Rothman Institute and the Sidney Kimmel Medical of Thomas Jefferson, where he instructs residents and fellows in the evaluation and treatment of a variety of spinal conditions. He is the Co-director of Spine Surgery at the Rothman Institute and Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and the Co-director of the Regional Spinal Cord Injury Center of the Delaware Valley. Dr. Rihn has over 150 peer and non-peer reviewed publications and book chapters and has edited several books and special journal issues related to the spine. He continues to be active in research and education that pertains to the evaluation and treatment of spinal conditions.
