Great Doctor, great experience
I was taken to Central Baptist with acute Gallbladder infection and needed a procedure to remove a lodged stone. Dr. Rensch was my attending physician and I was thoroughly happy and relieved after meeting him before and after the procedure. No residual and no pain. I feel great. Thank you Dr. Rensch.

Terrible doctor
My 92 year old father was in ICU for upper GI bleeding. Dr. Rensch was the doctor on duty at Methodist Hospital. He came in, said three words and walked out. The rudest person I have ever encountered. I would never recommend him to anybody for any reason. I don’t care if he’s the best doctor, I would never go to him. I would rate him -10 stars if I could.

misdiagnosed cancer.
My father was diagnosed with a perforated ulcer and after being in so much pain we ended back up at the ER. after being admitted for 3 days he was assigned to Dr Rensch as his GI specialist. They did the same thing they had done at the previous hospital. NG tube to drain his stomach, liquid diet and pain meds. I informed Dr Rensch of my dads previous hospitalization and that- that exact plan hadn't worked. I informed him i was requesting an upper GI study. he declined and stated 'i have been doing this for 20 plus years and my plan always works' he was discharged once again on a soft mechanical diet and medications. I managed to get my father in with a different GI specialist who AFTER ONE DAY OF SEEING HIM DID AN UPPER GI STUDY ON HIM. 3 DAYS LATER WE WERE NOTIFIED THAT HE HAS STAGE 4 STOMACH CANCER. I absolutely DO NOT recommend Dr Rensch. he disregarded my concerns, he chose to ignore my fathers symptoms and brush it away.

I am very impressed with Dr. Rensch and his nursing team. However, his office staff is rude and unprofessional. They also do not understand billing codes or insurances very well.

Easy colonoscopy
I am 83 years old and have had many colonoscopies in my lifetime. This was the easiest that I have ever had. Dr. Rensch and his staff at the Hill Country Digestive Center were excellent! The peptic stricture also has helped me swallow. Thank you

Had to leave one start or review wouldn’t save but was going to leave no stars as Dr Rensch is no good. He has no idea what he is doing. Had to seek second opinion and all I had was gas. How sad he had no clue and he is suppose to be a specialist All he wanted was money. Should have known he was no good as they have a very high turnover of staff in this office.

Very unhappy patient – Aug 07, 2021

My appointment was a meet and greet to see if we were a good fit. My goal was to find a doctor that knew more about Celiac Disease than I. Even though I was the last patient of the day, my appointment was not rushed. And yes, we were a great fit!!

Dr Rensch took 5 minutes to Dx a problem that had stymied other doctors for 15 years He picked up on abdominal masses that were ignored by the hospital and my surgeon. Beyond those, he’s taken excellent care of my complex gastric problems. I call him my savior.

Dr. Rensch is a fine man, but the only time I saw him was just before and after my procedure. All other visits were conducted by a nurse practitioner. The office staff is terrible! They encourage you to use the Patient Portal, but then they don't monitor it. My medical records were incorrect, and have not been corrected after several months. I was overcharged for my co-pay (which had to be made in advance), and have ignored my requests for a refund of what I overpaid.

I visited this office several times and each time I was scheduled with a lady. She was very knowledgeable & friendly, however I felt pressured to have another colonoscopy because my last one, even though only 2 years old, was done by another dr. When I finally agreed, I was told by the front desk I had to pay nearly $300 to his office before they could do it, plus other fees to hospital and anesthesiologist. I went to another GI Dr. and only had to pay $40 for colonoscopy using same insurance.

Called to schedule a colonoscopy but got the office voice mail recording. Left a message on a Wednesday morning but they did not return my call until late on Friday afternoon. By that time I had already scheduled with another doctor. Poor business practice to not return calls in a timely manner.

Disappointed in Kerrville, TX – Jul 04, 2018
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Rensch?
Staff was nice but never got a return phone call when one was needed. My son had continuous abdominal pain after what we thought was the issue for the pains subsided, they ordered ct scans, upper endoscopy, nothing found and was told there were no more testing that could be done, and was just given a couple of diff prescriptions to TRY, we found a new Dr. That was able to help him. Granted we never actually saw the Dr. but was just a waste of time and my son's health suffered in the mean time.
