Dr. Zhang advice is “Just live with it”.
I’m had an external hemorrhoid for about a year. I couldn’t find anything over the counter to help so I decided to see a doctor as it was unbearable. My PCM referred me to Dr. Ming Zhangs office at Baptist. He asked a few questions and then said surgery is painful and basically told me to live with it. Mind you he hadn’t even looked at it. He then offered to take a look and I said no thanks as he clearly didn’t want to help and if surgery was needed, this would be the last guy I choose. I’m not sure how to leave a review on Baptists page cause he somehow has 4 stars there but trust me when I say he didn’t provide any concern and my trip was a complete waste of $30 and my time. I will be getting another opinion.

Overall
OMG! Where to start. Made me cry before surgery saying I wasn't taking this serious enough! 8 inch scar 4 inches away from tumor to be removed. Called his office for more pain meds and was told to see my oncologist. I had only met him in the hospital when my sister saw him in the hall and brought him to my room!He kicked me to the curb 10 days after major surgery! No bedside manor!

Get another surgeon.
I went in for follow up of perirectal abscess. Office staff and nurse were welcoming and friendly. Dr Zhang not! As a nurse, I understand doctors are short on time but he never acknowledged me or my sister saying hello. He just came in, debrided my wound (with minimal numbing from Lidocaine gel). I almost came off the table a few times. He nicked my hemorrhoid. He never said sorry. He just got up, told the nurse no more dressing changes and no more visits (thank God). I know he probably doesn’t look at his reviews because he doesn’t care. Very poor bedside manner.

Rude and disrespectful
My husband had AML and had had a previous area on his thigh that was draining and required IV antibiotics. It cleared up but there was a hard marble size knot you could feel so his oncologist referred him to Dr Zhang to get it checked out before starting chemotherapy. We went in for the appointment and he said it has to come out. I asked him if he had looked at his labs that were drawn that morning and he ignored me. I pulled them up on the portal and said his WBC ( fights infection) and his platelets( help to stop bleeding) are extremely low they are such and such. He said we can do surgery in the morning or schedule it and walked out. He never addressed our concerns. We left, called his oncologist, and she said go to the ER. The ER doc examined him and said he thought it was scar tissue since it wasn’t red, hot, or painful. He also stated he looked at his labs and it could be harmful. He never had an issue with it and lost his battle with cancer 10 months later.

A Wound Is Not A Disability
My husband has 2 venous ulcers on his right foot. As a mechanic he has to be on his feet 10+ hours the pain was too excruciating so he opted to take short term disability & FML to continue his medical insurance. Dr. Zhang and his staff said he don’t do disability paperwork and to let my husbands primary care physician do it. Dr. Zhang said, “a wound is NOT a disability” I said,” it is if his wounds are on his foot and he has to be on his feet in steel-toe boots to work for 10+ hrs” I’m sure Dr Zhang has no problem in signing the insurance check to get paid. My husband’s primary care Dr didn’t know what was going on and didn’t sign his paperwork, so after 3 weeks of being off and burning up vacation, personal and option days and begging Dr Zhang to sign paperwork for short term disability, my poor husband said he may have to go back to work. Stay away from Dr Ming Zhang. He has no compassion.

Did not install a drain on my mom when he did Gall Bladder surgery. Procedure was rushed. Now she has been back to Baptist twice to fix Zhang's incompetence.

Talked a good talk before surgery but then basically abandoned patient when had complications post-op. Wreckless medical care. Arrogant, dismissive. Horrible professionalism and bedside manner. Would not recommend him to an enemy, much less family or friend.

Presumptuous and arrogant on my symptoms in which he IS NOT a specialist on. I would take my OB’s concern that got me there over his opinion, but even if he may have had the same one his demeanor I did not trust from the get go. I was right as the outcome from my referral left me still stressed and ridden with anxiety as he said no not anything your OB suspects, but could not give me an alternative. Yet biopsy the only 100% answer on is anything bad in my boob. Refused to do one unless I still have symptoms in 3 months... Mean if these get worse? My/OB Concern: Pain or tenderness, a persistent itching in breast especially around the nipple; many dont feel a lump, but an itch that wont go away; nipple color change to red or purplish; nipple starting to change inward, flatten, when it wasnt before; breast or nipple sore that wont seem to heal, bleeding from nipple or sore, 100% diagnosis for certain is biopsy

His office is very unorganized, surgery scheduler set up the surgery date before she got an approval for it. And then it was denied and she stated that they don’t do appeals to help to get surgeries approved, even after he is the one that stated the surgery was needed

I was admitted Tuesday night at 7pm for gallbladder removal. NPO. He was coming Wednesday morning to do the surgery. Wednesday morning, he's not there. Nurses say he's usually not in until 1 or later. Wednesday afternoon, not doing the surgery today, maybe tomorrow. It's now been 24 hours since I've had anything to eat or drink. Thursday morning, no surgery, even though I was on the schedule for 9:30am. He ended up not performing my surgery until almost 3pm Thursday afternoon.
