Great Doctor care but epic fail for all else
Dr. Hale is supportive, skilled and overall a great doctor. He successfully treated me for Prostrate Cancer. However, all other aspects of CAMC Urology, are, in my experience and opinion terrible. I find it virtually impossible to make appointments, get someone to take my calls or arrange for follow up visits they instructed me to call about. Absolutely terrible.

Poor Service from Either the Dr or the Office staf
I have been very very disappointed with Dr. Hale. I am not sure if it is actually Dr Hale or his office procedures. It is virtually impossible to talk to a live person when calling his office. When I left messages (multiple times) I never received a call back. In one meeting with Dr Hale before a procedure, he made a statement that "people with an enlarged prostrate often have urinary problems"....my wife had to remind him that his group had removed my prostrate--I was getting ready to be anesthetized so I didn't feel comfortable that he had even looked at my chart. Another time, I was suffering from severe hematuria. I called his office trying to get in to see him but couldn't get to talk to a live person. I left multiple messages and the office never got back to me. 6 days later they called me back after I contacted the chief of staff at camc to complain that the Dr wouldn't call me back after reporting a severe bleeding problem.... I would not recommend Dr Hale or his office

Office Staff
Dr. Hale was very nice and helpful, he got the ball rolling with my husband's bladder cancer. However, with his second surgery, I had to call and leave messages for the surgery scheduler several times. Then it was all me making calls to her to get his immunotherapy appts scheduled and again it took from Dec. 2021 to Feb. 2022 to get her to call me back. He was supposed to have started his treatments 6 weeks after his second surgery. Now that his treatments are over, we haven't heard from anyone about his next appt for his follow ups. We really like Dr. Hale but have trouble dealing with getting anything scheduled from that office.

Dr Hale was called in for a consultation when my husband was in the hospital recently. We found him to be very knowledgeable, thorough, and most importantly, he had my husband’s best interests at heart. We would highly recommend him.
