Stay Away!
Dr Whaley is condescending & will actually yell at you if you question him in any way. No compassion at all! Made my son cry & never even helped us. Won’t answer any messages either. The Mgr was of no help at all when I reported this & he never called back either. STAY AWAY FROM HERE!

I would not recommend!!
I am 57 years old with early dementia symptoms and 10 brain lesions affecting short term memory and balance issues. All he had to say about that was “well I have 3 brain lesions!” Also said symptoms would not come and go, at times mild other times severe. All research done and other doctors said yes, that is possible, symptoms can worsen at times and not too bothersome at other times. I guess if you don’t fit whatever mold he wants you are just crazy!

GO SOMEWHERE ELSE
Terrible experience at Tri-State Mountain Neurology Associates. This practice claims to specialize in RLS (according to their website and the ONLY reason I pursued an appt with this particular neurology group). Once seen by Dr. Whaley & Nurse Brandy, it was obvious they knew VERY little about this debilitating condition.I was even told by the nurse practitioner that “we have very few RLS patients.” EXCUSE ME but how can the claim of “specializing in RLS” be made if you don’t have RLS patients?!?! So many things to complain about: blood tests done w-out confirming insurance would cover.Wrong codes input into the system that the staff member getting paid for this job should know.(I was told that I would need to call the lab and straighten out the bill myself. Am I’m required to know how to fix their mistake??) Talking to Dr.Whaley verses the NP is almost impossible. I saw the doc only one time on my first visit for 15 min. Rude “Administrator” -no control of office or employees, etc, etc….

Totally dissatisfied
Dr. Whaley always questioned my questions about my husband who had ALS. I would ask about his test results but Dr. Whaley always asked why I needed to know. He got very upset with me and dropped my husband as a patient in April. My husband passed away in June 2023. He had no other neurologist when he passed. Due to taking so long to get an appointment with other neurologist he had no help at all before he passed thanks to Dr. Whaley. I would never recommend Dr. Whaley to anyone.,

Dissatisfied with office staff, billing, scheduling, lack of proactive approach to illnesses and lack of follow through with proper covid protocol. Seems to be outdated in both office infrastructure and medical care. Seeking care elsewhere.

I've had good experiences with Dr. Whaley. I've been seeing him for ... two, three ... years for quarterly treatments for cervical dystonia. He can be uncomfortably direct, as he was with me during my first visit when he asked me to "just" relate my symptoms. I have, however, since talked with him at some length about various concerns, including his family and his dedication to his profession. I've come to see him to be a highly caring individual who understands his work.

If you like being talked to like you are stupid and believe it is acceptable for elderly patients to be roughed up during their exams, then by all means, Dr. Whaley is the Dr. for you. After this headache specialist, Nathaniel Whaley, waltzed into the room with no mask or PPE, he offered his EXPERT ADVICE to my vulnerable grandmother in her 80s with severe breathing problems and asthma to disregard all COVID 19 precautions. Meanwhile, he was physically abusive during the exam of my grandfather who has recently suffered a stroke and some loss in function of motor skills. Then proceeded to engage in a full blown argument stating, "have you ever even known anyone who has died from COVID 19?" "It's just the flu" "you don't need to take any precautions to protect yourself from COVID 19" followed by a smug comment about his professional mutual connection to the Mayo clinic and an unnamed medical adviser to Gov. Bill Lee. Do not see Mr. Whaley. His license needs to be revoked!!!

This was the rudest Dr I have ever been exposed to. Total disregard for the patient. He was rough and condescending to my father. Did not have a mask on when the office door says to wear one and then told my 80 year old parent on three breathing treatments a day that the covid virus was nothing more than the flu. When I disagreed he raised his voice and wanted to know three times who we knew who had died from it. Straight up medical statements that go against what our local health departments are telling us. Most dangerous dr on the planet award!

Wouldn’t take me as a patient referral from my PCP for a second opinion due to me seeing another neurologist in the area. Never had the opportunity to get to be seen. Ballad doctors for ya, they are that good they can be selective. Why I go out of the area for treatment.

Not a Whaley Patient – Mar 31, 2020
×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Whaley?
My mother when to him and he was the rudest doctor I have ever met. He did not listen to a thing she said, criticized all of opinions other doctors have given. He had no sympathy for anything she has said or been through. In the end he would not let us know what he found in the test results and walked out, slamming the door behind him. The worst experience she has ever had. I 100% do NOT recommend him.

This has to be one of the most inept doctors I’ve ever been to. He asks you a question but then basically answers it himself. Doesn’t seem interested at all in actually listening to the patient. I had to call to get results of an mri from the girl answering the phone. Then had no follow up whatsoever. That’s very sad for such an important test. Also agree with another reviewer....it’s all about the money for them.

I have been going to Dr. Whaley for more than two years. I was in a vehicle accident and had very bad headaches daily. He continues to work with me to treat my headaches with medication every three months and additional medication once month. This has almost eliminated my headaches. When the 3 months is coming to an end I can barely tolerate the pain. He knows what he is doing and works to adjusts medication to benefit his patient. He has helped me tremendously!

I want your Money..... I have had to go to Neuro's since I was 8 years old. 30+ years. This is the worst neuro I have ever seen. Rude, does not listen yo you. Don't dare question anything, he will blow a gasket and attempt to punish you by making you wait months to try to get treatment. He seems to only care about the money not the patient. Avoid if you want any real treatment. The so called nurse is very rude and office staff is below average.

If you have minimal needs and do not care about if you are treated as an object not a human and don't have serious treatment with any concern of demoralizing treatment by staff nurse or doctor...sure great choice then, all sarcasm intended. Would not take my dog there. And never will my grandmother again!
