My experience with Dr. Meyer was excellent. He is always able to treat or explain the problem I have with my arm or shoulder. Yesterday he explained why I would need surgery on my arm to take out the hardware fro previous surgery. He also noticed my thumb and suggested surgery on it.

In the last three years, Dr. Meyer has replaced both my elbows and fixed my arthritic thumb joint. I hope I’m done spending so much time with him, but if life requires need of another upper extremity fix, I would most certainly return to his office. He is relatable, funny, and able to explain medicalese in layman’s terms. I’ve received cortisone shots from several people and am thankful when he’s done them, as his have been the least painful. Most importantly, I’m very satisfied with the results of the surgeries he’s performed. In the hospital, it was notable that he was very well thought of by the staff. In clinic, he sometimes runs on time, sometimes runs late, and a few times I’ve wondered if they’d forgotten about me. As a former surgeon’s secretary, I know that is not at all unusual. I just bring a book and appreciate the uninterrupted time. During my appointments, he is never rushed. I always feel like my questions and concerns are addressed to my satisfaction.

Dr. Meyer is expert at what he does, thorough, efficient, personable. He is very knowledgeable, spelled-out my options, patiently answered all my questions (I had a long list). The procedure itself went better than I expected. He was very attentive throughout. For example, if I shifted my body position, he asked me whether I was feeling pain. (He was very attentive to this, because he wanted to make sure not to get too close to any nerves in my hand.) My procedure was a needle aponeurotomy for Dupuytren’s contracture. Although I wasn’t keeping count, I think he did about five or six injections of the numbing agent, and then numerous other needles were used to cut the cords of myofascial tissue. Very precise work. I had first contacted Dr. Meyer eight years ago when I had just been diagnosed with Dupuytren’s. He was kind enough to respond to my my email, answering my question and offering reassurance, even though I was not yet his patient. I highly recommend him.

Went in for what I 'self-diagnosed' as trigger finger; believe Dr. Meyer agreed, but asked all the necessary questions and checked joints, etc. to be sure. Did not recommend any unnecessary additional tests or appointments, but walked me through all the options with the "whats/whys" behind each. I was able to receive steroid shots at this visit in both of my thumbs to help with the constant pain I had been feeling. Dr. Meyer also took time to show me how I could wrap my thumbs to provide a little more support without having to seek and purchase actual splints. I would definitely recommend Dr. Nicholas Meyer to any family/friends.

Dr Meyer was for me an excellent orthopedic surgeon, dealing with an unusual wrist fusion surgery. Dr Meyer was thorough, professional and explained my options and choices clearly, so that I was able to make the best decision on treatment. My wrist is back to feeling very good and I'm grateful to have had a terrific surgeon like Dr Meyer. Highly recommended!
