Dr. Dorvilus and Anastasia, NP are professional, compassionate and experts in their field. Both patiently listen to my concerns and all answer my questions. I trust their treatment decisions. I feel like they’re truly invested in my care. The short drive to Metter is well worth the high-quality care I receive at Candler Gastroenterology.

Dr. Dorvilus is treating me for a duodenal ulcer that has been VERY painful. He has performed several procedures that really helped me. My main complaint is about his N.P.(Nurse-Practitioner).The visits(monthly)consist of their entering the room, sitting down, asking a few(VERY few)questions. Any questions I ask are either ignored or barely answered(they have a condescending & patronizing attitude). Then they listen to my breath, lastly, are there any meds I need refilled, then its time to go...While I give Dr. Dorvilus himself an 8 out of 10(10 being the best),I give his N.P. a 2 out of 10.I am now looking for a new practice for my Gastro needs.

De. Dorvilus is detailed. Here doesn't take your medical history for granted, no matter how minor. He clearly explains his procedures to the patient and asks questions to be sure that the patient understands him.

The doctor was an hour late for the procedure but was very nice. Low ratings to their insurance billing practices. I went in for a preventive screening colonoscopy that is 100% covered by insurance but still received a bill for a consultation visit. There was no reasonable explanation and no system for appeal. After being sent to collections, I had to pay.

I was referred to Dr. Dorvilus for chronic gastrointestinal issues. While he is smart and kind, his practice is not a great fit for me. The staff are friendly but it is hard to get them to return a call or follow up on anything. I have blood work that has been ready for 10 days--I followed up 3 times with no response. Every appt, I wait well over an hour to be seen. He was also an hour late to my medical procedure. I think he is on the right track with my treatment but I am moving on.

First visit, he showed up to office 30 minutes late. I waited an hour to see him. He DID take his time with me, was nice, etc.. but I chose to go with another MD. Just wasn't comfortable.

My wife needed to have hemmroid removed. The doctor completely ignored the external one that was giving her problems and removed the internal ones. It wasn't until the final visit (and all the money was paid) that he wasn't going to deal with the external hemorrhoid she was complaining about so much. I think this is totally unethical. He knew from the start what she wanted done and just ignored her. Will never go there again for anything.
