Dr. Peter Montgomery, MD

I have seen Dr. Montgomery twice and I agree with other people that say he’s a pompous know it all. He listens to you long enough to make a judgment and once he makes that judgment he doesn’t hear anything else nor can you get a word in edgewise. He is also quick to give you healthy eating guidelines and direct you to his healthy living website, no matter what your problem is. He acts as though he knows your body better than you do. I don’t know if doctors are being given ridiculous guidelines by management or the insurance companies, or if it’s just how this guy is, but I hope this isn’t the future of medicine because it sucks.

I have been seeing Dr. Peter Montgomery for about 20 years. I go to the doctor only if I'm sick which is once every few years. I call today to get seen because I have waited 3 weeks to even call the doctor. After 3 years if u dont go to the doctor you are a new patient. And have to do everything all over. Plus the best part. Cant been seen until March of 2020. This is what is wrong with the medical field. For someone that has great insurance and never gets sick now has to wait 3 months to be seen. I will never use or refer this office . I would give a negative rating if I could.

He did not address my issues at all. He was condescending ,rude, presumptuous, judgemental, and did not seem to care about my reason for being there but rather just had a false and preconceived notion about who I was and what he thought I needed. He didn't listen to me. He seemed to have forgotten his hippocratic oath. I would not recommend this arrogant doctor at all to anyone. I would even go so far as to say that what transpired was malicious on his part. It was a waste of time and money. He is not a psychiatrist but was certainly diagnosing me ss if he were. He should stick to his field of expertise. And take the time to listen to each patient's individual needs. Just because someone has a doctorate degree doesn't mean that they're not still human and prone to snap judgments about people.

Have been seeing Dr Montgomery for 3-4 years and find he's very knowlegable and shows a genuine professional concern for me and my husband's health.

Spent more time talking about his kids going to college then he talked about my reason for visiting. Went in for a scheduled physical, he refused and told me to change my diet and come back in a month and would perform a physical at that time. He proceeded to charge me $120 for an "office visit"

Dr Montgomery is always willing to sit and talk to me about any issues I am having and always answers my questions thoroughly, in laymen’s terms. He is very caring and persistent about providing the best treatment for me.

He is a great doctor. Bad review on this site didn't leave name like a coward. My name is posted. I would recommend him for family practice. He is always smiling.

WORST DOCTOR EVER! I went to him with a problem and all he was was judgmental and rude and I left his office in tears because he is so insensitive! I will be spreading the word not only on here but EVERYWHERE else telling people to NOT go to PETER MONTGOMERY! Thanks for making me feel worse!

Best doctor I ever had and professional and is sincere

I like the way he comes in the room, sits down, looks you in the eye and asks, how can I help you. My previous Doctor rarely sat down and never looked you in the eye. He takes as much time as your problem needs. His staff is very polite and efficient.

I think the world of this doctor. He has taken me from not knowing what to do, to all I have to do is call and I get an appointment wait time is just a few minutes to the best care I have ever had. Thank you Dr. Montgomery and Tammy for being to wonderful and giving me and My Family the best care with the correct medicine you are the best!!!!!!! Also the staff is wonderful from checking in to telephone support I am so glad that the has my grandson and my daughter now in his care

Great doctor very thoughtful and takes time to explain every thing

I have seen this doctor numerous times over the past year and will not be returning. He never seems to take time to talk with his patients and instead rushes them out the door. During my last visit, I left his office feeling like he had judged me and my husband for our health choices. I didn't want his judgement, just answers to some questions. He also never seemed to take my concerns about my health seriously. I know Dr. Montgomery is a good man, but I will not be returning to him as a patient.

I have been a patient of Dr. Montgomery for 10 years. He is truly gifted and caring - to the point that when I was in the hospital last year he came to see me at 10 p.m. I also admire Dr. Montgomery for his commitment Volunteers in Medicine, an organization in Lake St. Louis providing medical care to those at the bottom of the economic scale.

Overall I think Dr. Montgomery is a good doctor. However, over the years I have noticed he has spent less time talking to me when he sees me in the examining room compared to when I first started seeing him many years back. It seems like he walks in the room and then is gone no less than five minutes later. Other than that I think Dr. Montgomery is a good doctor.
