Great Doctor
Saved my wife's life. We went around the country for 5 years trying to find out what was wrong with my wife. He figured it out instantly and performed surgery within two weeks. She knew she was better when she woke up in the recovery room. Exceptional skills. Straight forward, no non-sense bed side manners was find with us. Steve R. Houma, LA

On first visit , was awesome! After the MRI came back on the follow up visit and it wasn’t my brain, he wanted nothing to do with me and dropped kicked me out of the office . So much of it is” if the square peg doesn’t fit in the round hole “ and these doctors don’t get slapped in the face with a diagnosis or have to think about things, they pass you along . I quote him on that . Thought he was going to be different ., not so.

These negative reviews of Dr. McAllister are a straight up load of crap. He did brain surgery on me and two of my friends. He is absolutely wonderful. On top of this, I worked with him on a professional level and he was great then too. When another doctor walked in my hospital room and told me I was "screwed" Dr. McAllister gave me hope. As a mother of three diagnosed with glioblastoma, I was facing the worst crisis of my life. He listened to me, my husband, and held my hand as I was told the most shocking and horrifying news of my life. When my friends had glioblastoma, he was there for them as well. I just wish he could have stayed here; but I don't mind driving 90 minutes to see him because HE IS WORTH THE DRIVE. And you don't feel the same, then you don't know him like I do. I wouldn't let anyone touch my family and I am a registered nurse so what does that tell you? Dr. McAllister is not just a physician, he is a friend and he is family, period.

Fabulous physician. Practices medicine like it should be with the patient as his only focus not how much time he is spending. BRG different than his previous office but he is unchanged.

Dr. McAllister and his staff are awesome. Dr. McAllister took his time with us, answered all of our questions and took very good care of my husband. He is meticulous at what he does and always has the patients best interest. My husband had cervical, ulnar and carpal tunnel surgeries by McAllister and we couldn’t have asked for anyone better.

This doctor is exceedingly caustic & unprofessional. He spent most of the visit ranting about how much he hated picking up the messes of other local physicians, & how deplorable their practice of medicine was, & what a non-serious attitude the people of S. LA had about their healthcare, & how he had no use for anyone who went to Vanderbilt or E.D. White High School, or LSU. Funny thing is, he--himself--did not offer any treatment options, but referred me out for further evaluation.

Awful doctor. If something happens during or after surgery, you're on your own. I was schedule to have surgery with him, but I'm so glad that I didn't. I heard so many horror stories about him after. He ran tests and then dropped me because my insurance wouldn't pay him what he wanted. During the visit he talked poorly of his co workers in the hospital. Things that a doctor shouldn't tell their patients. He seemed like a very angry person.

Dr. McAllister was phenomenal, as was the assisting staff. I did get A LOT of attitude from the scheduling office person (blonde woman). Not only was her attitude completely unprofessional, she also went as far as to make a very sarcastic remark about my request to a fellow employee right in front of me. Given a better surgical option, know that I would take it in a minute. Too bad this great surgeon has such an awful person working for him.

Both my wife and I have had back surgeries with great outcomes. Additionally another Dr recommended a four level cervical fusion and Dr McAllister suggested not operating unless it was affecting my quality of life, which it does not. Any Dr that passes on a money making surgery based on my quality of life is A1 in my book.

I will never reconmend this doctor. He lied to me. He wanted me to see a physcical therapist and a Dr. Rachall and after that he would do a nerve block. They were going to call me to set up an appointment. I never heard from them. I talked to the Physical Therapist and he said Dr. McAllister office never called him. My appointment was September 1, 2015. He's so rude. Another surgeon did my surgery October 8, 2015. I'm doing very well.
