Limb Lengthening Surgery
I had a limb length discrepancy and had my femur lengthened. Dr. McClure did a great job. A year after my surgery he also performed the removal of the hardware and I’m back to normal. Dr. McClure was always quick to respond to any questions I had and addressed all of my concerns. He made me feel comfortable with the procedure and he did a great job.

Expert in limb lengthening
Dr. McClure performed a limb lengthening surgery on my lower left leg to correct the damage from a childhood accident. I traveled back and forth to Baltimore from SC for the surgeries because Dr. McClure and the staff at RIAO are world leaders in this procedure. Everything went well, and I was sure that Dr. McClure always had contingencies in place in the event of a complication.

A life changing experience
Dr. McClure is one of, if not the best orthopedic surgeons in the area. I first went to see him two years ago about a problem with my leg and not being able to walk comfortably. He and Dr H. both knew exactly what needed to be done and before I left the initial visit that day I had a surgery date. All my life I had this problem with my legs and it took me 35 years to finally find someone willing and able to help me. All the other doctors I had seen told me I was to big or they wouldn’t handle my case and just push me off on someone else but not Dr. McClure. The surgery was intense and the recovery was rough but he was there for me no matter what. His bedside manner while I was in the hospital was great, every single office visit was fantastic and he always had the easy to understand answers to my questions. He made everything easy for me, saved me trips back and forth to Baltimore and has been absolutely outstanding even to this day.

Dr McClure and his team are the best! My son ( 10 years old ) had an accident at school and ended up with a fracture on his wrist. Dr McClure and his team made him feel very comfortable. Considering my son is a very nervous little guy him feeling safe and comfortable was large concern of mine and they hit it out of the park! I would absolutely refer anyone to this team! Hopefully we wont need to return for a new injury but if we do I would feel great just knowing that such a good team of people exist!

Dr. McClure is currently overseeing my four-year old's limb lengthening. We sought many second opinions nationwide to find the best surgeon for my son's complex partial tibial growth arrest. As an active, athletic little boy with a serious orthopedic challenge, we wanted to give him the best possible outcome for his future. Dr. McClure went above and beyond to answer all of our questions and explain the situation in a way we could understand. He related well to my son (three year's old at the time of surgery) and expressed compassion, kindness, and extensive knowledge of complex and rare orthopedic conditions. I really appreciate that he reads and follows the latest medical journals and studies and did not recommend unnecessary restrictions based on the latest research. This approach made the limb lengthening process surprisingly tolerable for my son. He is able to continue his active lifestyle with certain modifications and enjoy life despite the hardship of an external fixator.

Dr.McClure is a knowledgeable surgeon, I had an amazing experience with my right leg’s surgery. I had realignment surgery for my left leg with a different surgeon and was afraid that after surgery my legs do not look symmetric. However, he did an amazing job in the realignment of my right leg and after surgery, my legs looked completely symmetric. Furthermore, his incisions are very short and cosmetic.

My 7yr old fractured her wrist. Dr. McClure was really good with her and she responded well to him considering she was in pain. He didn't push a cast, although that would have paid out more. Instead he gave us the choice of a cast or a brace. When we chose brace he suggested we buy a second brace online so she could have one to wear in the water. A very helpful recommendation, and again, he didn't try to sell us one. He also gave us the choice of scheduling another visit to review new xrays after 4 weeks, or to have the xrays done at an imaging center and then email them to him for review so we didn't have to wait for an appointment with him. It was so much more convenient to do the follow up that want and he got back to us right away. The office and nursing staff at The Rubin Institute, where we initially saw Dr. McClure, was extremely expedient in getting us in and out.

Dr. McClure is an amazing and talented orthopedic specialist. He is knowledgeable, patient, caring, understanding, funny, and most importantly honest. He knows bones and keeps parents and children informed of everything at all stages of the game. My son had a very serious and complicated injury that Dr. McClure treated and avoided surgery. We need more doctors like doctor McClure. I am forever grateful for the wonderful team at the Rubin Institute that took care of my son for many weeks, especially Dr. McClure.

Dr. McClure is fantastic doctor and I would highly recommend him! He saw my 4 year-old daughter for a broken femur after a sledding accident. Admittedly, her fracture wasn't complicated and only required a cast for 6-weeks so I expected to be handed off to a physician assistant. Even though it was a minor fracture, it was a big deal for our family and Dr. McClure was very compassionate and present at all of our visits. He eased my nerves, answered all my questions and he was willing available to answer follow-up questions and concerns after our visits. I certainly would recommend him and we will use him in the future if the need arises. Thank you, Dr. McClure!

We have nothing but great things to say about Dr. McClure and his office staff! He treated my daughter for a fractured arm after a playground accident. He cares, was attentive and explained the situation and repairs in a way that was easy to comprehend. I felt like she received the best quality of care throughout this entire process - especially during post-off evaluations. I'd highly recommend him!

Dr. McClure performed 2 leg lengthening related surgeries using the Precise Nail for our daughter. During office visits or surgery days, he was always very professional, took time to listen, and explained options in great detail. At any time during the lengthening or recovery phases, he was always available via email or phone to ask questions which were always quickly answered. He and his ICLL team are second to none and well worth the out of state drive we had to fix our daughter's leg length discrepancy.

We are having a wonderful experience with Dr. McClure who is taking care of our 3 year old daughter for over year and half now. Dr. McClure is excellent surgeon who connects with children with ease. He is cordial, very confident, experienced, and to the point doctor who will take time to patiently answer all your questions. We are spending half of our time overseas and connecting with Dr. McClure via WhatsApp as well as emails and phone calls. He gives immediate diagnosis and straight solutions. He is also very humble in nature. The staff was always helpful and kind as well, they ensured we had a smooth prep, surgery, and follow-up. Caring bravely is truly imprinted in Dr. McClure and his team heart! We are so glad we chose RIAO at Sinai Hospital and would highly recommend it to anyone. They are simply brilliant.

Dr. McClure is a world class surgeon and even better caregiver. He spent a lot of time talking with our teenage daughter and us about her condition and treatment options. He helped us make a well-informed decision about the treatment plan and answered all of our questions along the way. The procedure went better than expected and greatly improved our daughter’s condition.

Glad doctors are out there, contributing to wellness/kindness, like Dr. McClure. He and his team give new meaning to "extraordinaire and caring." Not only did my teenage daughter receive the highest quality of care, but it was the kindness and personal interest of Dr. McClure and the entire team of doctors and nurses at Sinai that made it such an incredible experience. When my daughter says “Everyone is so nice and makes me feel so special!,” you know you have an extraordinary team who cares deeply and bravely. It's been a privilege to know Dr. McClure and benefit from his expertise.

Dr McClure has been by far one of the best doctors we have dealt with, for my son. His calm and friendly demeanor instantly makes us feel positive about the treatment plan. He always made it a point to answer my umpteen questions about the condition and the treatment plans and made me feel involved in the littlest of decisions regarding my son's treatment. Not only during the appointments, but also for the e-mails, his responses have always been quick and transparent. Never did I feel rushed for the appointment nor uneasy to ask whatever doubts or questions I had about the treatment plans. The results we achieved for my son, makes me completely trust his skills as an orthopedic surgeon. I would highly recommend Dr. McClure!
