Best in his field
After seeing many rheumatologists, he’s been the only one that has been straight forward, no run around. He tells it like it is, although his delivery may not be the best. However, he was on point and was able to turnaround my daughter’s illness andNow she’s in remission. The office wait it’s bad, but you just have to be ready for it.

One of the best doctors I have ever had during the more than 20 years that I have been his patient. I recommended him without reservation to family members and close friends.

Listen to the reviews!
I really wish I would’ve listened to the earlier reviews left. Clearly these are not isolated occurrences if he consistently has bad reviews. Waited over 3hrs. To be seen. His PA was amazing. She listened, was compassionate and very thorough. I had high hopes. Then he came in to do the exam. Incredibly rude. Condescending. Arrogant. Dismissive. I was appalled. He then had the audacity to inform me that my pain was normal and it wasn’t hurting anything. Pain is not normal! Really unsure how this man continues to hold a medical license.

this is a doctor of rheumatoid arthritis
I visited him two times. the two times the waiting time was approximately 3 hours. At the second visit, after waiting two hours to see not even the doctor but the nurse practitioner, I said to one of the staff, "Its been two hours that I am waiting". This staff did not find anything better to say that "I know."

The worst doctor in Miami
I wish i could give Dr. Rivas a 0. He is the most arrogant and stuck up doctor i have ever visited. At one point, I followed up with a question because I did not understand his explanation. His direct response was "you do not understand because I am the doctor and you are the patient." You will wait in the waiting room for 3-4 hours for your appointment. You'd think that maybe it takes so long because he is thorough with his patients. Wrong! he tries to rush you out as soon as possible and does not like to answer or elaborate on any point. DO NOT VISIT THIS DOCTOR UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE MISERABLE.

So very arrogant. Is not good at even explaining what’s going on and acts as if the patient should already know what is wrong. Do NOT go to this man. He will leave you shocked and disappointed.

RUDE AND ARROGANT! I am a patient as well as a nurse. At 45 I have been dealing with a chronic illness since age 7. I would rank Dr. Chacon among the very worst. He refuses to explain his decisions and insisted on stopping a drug that has quite literally kept me alive for the past year. After 2 appts, I was absolutely done! Do not use this MD!

We drove 2.5 hours to see him, we do not have this specialty where we reside. Our appointment was scheduled for 10:15, we waited until 1:30to see this doctor. He spoke to us in Spanish, my daughter has limited Spanish skills. He ordered additional tests and waited 19 days to call us at 7pm and tell us her tests were abnormal and would not say why. We had to get records from Quest after a long night of worrying. Found a different doctor he was rude and argumentative. Unprofessional!

Medical not advisable. You always wait more than 2 and a half hours. Since I began to consult with him, my health deteriorated rapidly to the point that after a treatment that he indicated in a way that was not completely correct, he ended up several times in emergency and did not do absolutely nothing to help me.It is a doctor of little human thickness, irresponsible, limited knowledge, superficial and very arrogant. Office staff indifferent and make many mistakes.

Dr. Rivas-Chacon was very helpful and encouraging at my first appointment. I can't speak for the other reviewers but I found him to be extremely pleasant and thorough. I have been to very mediocre doctors who do not have a wait- I would much rather wait a little longer for a great doctor. He works out of a children's hospital and things come up. He went out of his way to call a different department to have me seen the same day without an appointment. I would highly recommend him.

I cannot speak for the other people who have posted here. However, Dr. Chacon has been our (mine and my daughters) doctor for over 15 yrs. He is always attentive and he is extremely knowledgeable. He always returns our calls and takes his time during our visit. I don't mind the wait because he gives us the same care he gives other patients. I have seen other rheumatologist and known compare to Dr. Chacon.

I wasn’t happy. My appointment was at 9am and I didn’t see the doctor until 11:45. As soon as he walked in he began to speak to me in Spanish and I asked to please speak in English, as I had stated on the paperwork given at registration, and he proceeded to lecture me on how I need to teach my children three languages. I’m not sure if he’s a good doctor because, at the present time, he can’t determine what the issues are and sent me for further testing. He should improve his attitude or retire.

Never ever entrust your family or friends care to this loser! He is disrespectful, rude, unfriendly and inept in his profession. I almost lost my legs thanks to the recommendations of this fool. Thankfully I stopped going to his office and went to a nicer doctor. Now I am pain free, and healthy and never had to do any surgery. Never try to be friends with this guy. Don't even shake his hand. He is a taker. You will notice it in his troubled eyes and cannot hold eye contact normally. total fool!

This has been the worst experience with a doctor I have ever had. Both times I have been in his office, the waiting time has been over 2 hours and a half, spent all day. No apologies or anything for the delay. The doctor is not nice neither his staff. His explanations are very poor. Also, I was incorrectly charged for his visit. Additionally, consideing his office is in a children's hospital they do not have anything to distract them for the waiting time!

When other Doctors misdiagnosed me and gave me a limited life span. Dr Rivas Chacon gave me hope and assured be that we will work together until we find a solution. With prayer and medicine we will persevere. When I started seeing Dr Rivas in 2011 I was walking with a cane and had other doctors telling me that they can only give me medications to make me comfy. I would slowly deterroriate then pass away. Doctor Rivas Chacon gave me hope. Today I have gotten my life back. Thanks to God first.

He cares more about the payment for the office visit than the well being of his patients. He completely lied to me about my daughters blood work results just to get us into the office so he could charge for the visit. Not to mention the 2 1/2 hours we writhe to see him. NEVER again!!!
