Dr. Ramon Rivera, MD

I first saw Dr. Rivera in the emergency room. He was absolutely amazing. He was kind, caring and explained everything in a way I could understand. During my stay in the ICU at Good Sam he came in every day and checked on me and explained what was going on.

Dr Rivera is awesome. From the 1st time I met him and he explained my goal weight, to the time he performed a life saving hernia repair for me and as recent as coaching we through some regain, he has always been supportive, solution oriented and willing to explain in terms that help you better understand. If something isn’t working for you he goes above and beyond to find alternative solutions.

Dr. Rivera performed emergency intestinal surgery on me when I entered St. Anthony's (Hospital) ER in extreme pain. He probably saved my life. He was very professional and I highly recommend him.

I met Dr. Rivera September 17, 2017 when I was rushed to St. Anthony's Hospital. I was vomiting violently and having terrible pains in my right side. I had been to another hospital and was diagnosed with a "stomach virus". Dr. Rivera came to my bed side in the Emergency Room and told me he suspected it could be peritonitis appendicitis and that I would need surgery. It was the first time in my life I was having surgery, and I was but Dr. Rivera reassured me by telling me a story of when he was 15 years old, had injured his shoulder and needed surgery . I wanted to thank him afterwards , but was told that I couldn't because he was so booked up. Before this, I wanted to pass my exams at the UN and go rescue the child soldiers in the French and Spanish speaking countries. Now, I am studying for the state exams to become a Spanish and French medical interpreter. I am also a survivor of father-daughter incest. Dr. Rivera saved my life and I will never forget him for as long as I live.

Horrible... he was assigned to me in the hospital. Not my choice. Worst bedside manner I ever saw. Mean and not helpful and absolutely offered no info... My strongest non recommendation in my 58 years alive. Do not use him.

Dr.Rivera was amazing very professional and explained the whole experience very clearly,, I’m so glad I was in good hands.. thanks to the wonderful staff members, and I’m happy with the results so far...??????

I look for professionalism, efficiency, courtesy, personality and sincerity from a Doctor and their Staff. Happily I can state this is what I have received from Dr. Rivera and the Tri-State Bariatrics (TSB) Team. I drive over a hour for my frequent follow-ups as a recent gastric sleeve patient. The TSB Team makes it worth the trip!

Dr. Rivera is an amazing doctor. He was personable, answered all my questions, made me feel secure...pretty much extended my life. I am healthy and I look and feel fantastic! His office staff is amazing. They know me by name when i walk in the door...I feel like family upon my arrival. I have already recommended Dr. Rivera and Tri-State to several people. Thank you!

Very good doctor

I would highly recommend Dr. Rivera. I am a physician also and I was very impressed. He was extremely professional and thorough. He answered all my questions. I felt he had my best interest at heart and was not quick to jump to a surgical procedure before exhausting medical weight loss. In addition he made sure to do all blood work and EKG before any prescriptions. I had been to two previous bariatric centers and did not receive the quality of care I received from Dr. Rivera.

The worst experience ever! I was caught off by the lack of respect given to me by the receptionist Maria.

I met Dr. Rivera 6 years ago when he implanted my Lap Band and have had nothing but Excellent experiences with him. He is the kind of Doctor who really listens to you and isn't in a hurry to get to his next patient. I highly recommend him!

I met with this doctor several times regarding stomach bypass surgery and he prescribed a series of tests including one needing a prescription. Despite numerous attempts to obtain the prescription and repeatedly requesting he and his staff follow up - I have still not received the much needed prescription and my request is completely ignored by the doctor - the staffs only response is the doctor has not responded to the requests. What kind of service is this? This is poor service. Terrible!

Excellent surgeon, compassionate person, really wants you to succeed.
