Never read my MRI report
I was seen by Dr De Asla's NP on two different occasions. The Dr. was supposedly reviewing all the MRI and xray reports and informing the NP on what to do. They did not read the MRI that explained I had multiple injuries to my ankle and foot. Multiple fractures and multiple ligament tears. Was treated & misdigonsed and told I could put limited weight on my foot. I have had my MRI reread and explained of the extent of my injuries. Will be set back by a number of weeks and perhaps at risk for my bones not healing correctly.

Amazing surgeon
Dr. De Asla performed surgery on my ankle when I broke both tibia and fibula. This was 10 yrs ago when he was in Massachusetts. I was 60 yrs old at the time. He was very precise about his instructions for my recovery. I followed his instruction to the letter. I have nearly 100% movement in that ankle now and can't even see the surgical scar anymore. Highly recommend Dr. De Asla and so glad I had him as a surgeon. Couldn't have asked for a better doctor.

GREAT Surgeon & Kind man!
Dr. DeAsla corrected a failed surgery, including broken hardware, in my left foot. His surgical skills are beyond reproach and his follow-up has been terrific. I am so sorry I did not have him perform my first surgery as I am certain with his careful follow up and skills it would not have failed. We are blessed to have a man of Dr. DeAsla's capabilities serving our community. He truly cares about his patients and takes whatever time is necessary to listen. I highly recommend Dr. DeAsla.

Plantar Fascia Contusion
Dr. De Asla has a very conscientious bedside manner, he listened intently to my concerns... Even when my questions might seem silly to a professional, to a layperson these questions are important. He always responded in a professional caring manner. On my last appointment (I had been coming once a month for 5 months), My last appointment He was as caring as my 1st. He very kindly wrapped an Ace on my wounded ankle, knowing I was doing much better and it was perhaps our last visit having healed the wound. He did not have to show as much concern any longer, he still did. It goes to his 100% commitment to each patient and their care from beginning to end, It was always going to be the same, very professional and caring. That is all any patient is looking for, Dr. De Asla has the highest marks from me!Though I hope, I never see him again.... ' ) (wink) only because I'm healed.PS I would be remiss if I did not mention his very competent and happy(always greeting you with a smile) staff.

Surgery
My experience with Dr. De Asla and his staff was excellent. His office staff was professional and courteous. My pre operative and post operative ppointments were always on time. His medical staff was clear, informative and took the time for my questions, concerns with complete explanation both pre and post operatively. Dr. De Asla was professional, warm and caring in his approach with me. Dr. De Asla also took time for my questions with complete explanation and expected outcome. I had surgery and my experience was seamless and very positive. I have had an excellent outcome. Thank you to Dr. De Asla and his entire staff for caring for me so very well !

Great Ankle Orthopedic Team
I can’t say enough how great my experience was with Dr De Asia this past March 2023! I slipped on a palm tree frond and broke both sides of my left ankle. His knowledge, expertise and nice bedside manner made a bad experience bearable. His entire team including Jason, Anthony, Nick, John and Pam were all so helpful and supportive with my surgery and post op appointments. Highly recommend this orthopedic team!

Dr. DeAsla is the quite simply the BEST. Competent, skilled, knowledgeable and has a great bedside manner. Hands down I would recommend him to anyone that needs orthopedic foot surgery. I wish my other foot that had the same surgery years ago could have been Dr. DeAsla.

The Best
Had successful subtalar arthrodesis revision surgery performed by Dr. de Asla. No need to feel it necessary to have ankle surgery done in the big-city clinics. Dr. de Asla's reputation from other docs and medical professionals was expressed to me as five star; I concur. Dr. de Asla and team - Anthony, Jason and Pam took great care of my needs and answered all my detailed and frequent questions. I can return to an active lifestyle of tennis, golf, gym workouts, dancing and long walks just four months post surgery. Very satisfied!

Lacks compassion
I had an Achilles tendon surgery on my right foot that went really bad with serious complications including several days in intensive care and none infection. After a second surgery I ended up with dr DeAsla. He did clean my wound but after two procedures he was not able to prescribe the right antibiotic to resolve my infection. He left me on amoxicillin for almost 3 months and I ended up with beading ulcer on my stomach. Dr Allan at the NCH wound center finally collect a culture and prescribed the right antibiotic. Later on I needed similar surgery on my left foot and Dr DeAdka performed it. Total disaster. I have more pain today 14 months after surgery than before the surgery. He stated more than a few times that he could do nothing else to resolve my care. I finally visited other MD and, as it turns out, the bone spur is still there and I may need other surgery again. I kind of wonder what he did on my foot? I definitely do not recommend.

Thorough not quick to operate
I was referred to Dr. Richard de Asla, MD by an orthopedic surgeon whom I trust completely and I knew I was in great hands. I had developed a hammer toe and pain in my plantar plane and my toes had begun to migrate, dislocate and gave me great pain. As a very active 51 year old with no plans to slow down, I knew I needed this issue addressed to not cause further issues. I wish I could put a photo of the surgical reconstruction to give a visual of Dr. de Asla’s skill. Knowing my husband and I have planned a dream trip to Italy in June, Dr. de Asla worked the timeline for surgery so that I can walk on cobblestone streets without pain and only think of the beauty around me and not have pain. Super grateful.

Dr de Asla - Outstanding Surgeon
Dr de Asla took great care of my foot and ankle problems. What is great about him is that he is clear about the surgical procedure expectations and recovery timeline. He is exceptionally skilled and delivered outstanding results. He is friendly and compassionate and I can’t say enough about his staff, Jason, Anthony and Pat who went above and beyond in their care. Thank you for everything you did to improve my quality of life.

3 surgeries within 1 year have left my foot deformed. His failure to review my operative notes from my previous foot surgery resulted in total removal of my second toe implant, leaving it lame & painful. The great toe implant he replaced was removed, then improperly replaced requiring a second surgery. The third surgery was to remove the painful implant. At post surgery appointment I requested an MRI which confirmed my foot is deformed.

Dr. de Asla explained the procedure he was going to do on my foot in detail and told me to ask any questions I could think of. His office staff is very personable and attentive. I had questions that i put into My Chart and was answered within an hour. Dr. de Asla takes time to listen and is just a very nice man. I would recommend him to anyone who has a foot problem.

Dr de Asla and his staff are amazing.
Dr de Asla and his staff provided me with the best care. From diagnosing the problem with my ankle to the end of my post op visits Dr de Asla took care of the problem and between him, his PA Jason and his nurse Anthony they ensured that all of my questions were answered and that my ankle was healing as it should. His scheduler Pam was so sweet and always made sure I got the appointments I needed. I would highly recommend this dr and his great care team. They’re phenomenal
