I definitely did not have a good experience. He mumbled a greeting as he entered the room and overall was not very helpful or professional. It felt like he did not care at all that I and my mother were there, but when my father came with me he has no issue speaking to him. He did not explain any of my lab results to me, and told me that the lab results I brought from my primary care doctor were “not comparable” to his hospital’s lab results for some reason. Fortunately, I have anatomical knowledge and have done my own research into my thyroid condition so I was able to figure out my results on my own. When talking about my primary care doctor he also assumed that it was a man when she is in fact a woman, and an excellent primary care doctor. Overall, a very negative and uninformative experience, I would not recommend this doctor, but I do hope he grows to become more professional and caring towards his patients in the future.

Very Disappointed
I've liked most of the doctors I've seen throughout my life, but definitely not this one. He was very rude and condescending. I do not recommend him.

Do not go to this man who calls himself a doctor. I have never been treated so rude by anyone, especially someone who has taken an oath to help sick people! He was extremely arrogant and was not interested I anything I had to say! I am so disappointed that UAB would have a doctor of this calliber working for them! It's really bad when you can no longer find doctors who truly care about their patients, but this one cares nothing about his!! I wouldn't advise anyone to see him!!

I’m a Thyroid Cancer patient, had a thyroidectomy with lymph nodes removed & two rounds of I-31 Radioactive Iodine Therapy. I’ve been seeing Dr. Rosenthal for 13-years. He is personable & explains things well. He’s extremely knowledgeable in his field, tells it like it is, and I’ve been very pleased. being under his care. He normally runs on time. His staff is always very kind and helpful.

Always extremely kind, personable, knowledgeable and a straight shooter. Actually reviews blood work and makes adjustments to my prescription as needed. Never any problems getting prescription refills, rescheduling appointments or communication on patient portal.

Dr. Rosenthal was very personable with my husband & myself. He made you feel welcome & comfortable. He asked many questions, took his time , & listened to what we had to say. He also answered all our questions & Made sure before we walked out that we understood everything & we were satisfied. This was our first time to meet him & he is exceptional. He is the kind of doctor everyone should want.

Still waiting on my test results ( for a month or so ) after he called me himself and said he wants to see what my test results confirmed. I didn't even get answers to anything. Totally confused by my first visit with him. Awkward to say the least. Was referred to him from my surgeon, this was a complete waste of my time and money driving from Tuscaloosa to the Kirkland Clinic.. I will do my thorough search and find a better Endocrinologist in Tuscaloosa. ??

Referred to him by my family practice doctor because my Hashimotos wasn't improving. He said I didn't Hashimotos, said was overmedicated by my family practice CRNP and never to believe what I read online. After an ultrasound and 4 tubes of blood, he emails me to confirm that I do indeed have Hashimotos and to remain on my current dose of medication. He is a complete fool and has ruined my opinion of the Kirklin Clinic. Seeing him was a waste of a day, copay and parking deck fees.
