At first I felt like I needed to push him to recognize I knew what I was talking about, and I can understand a doctor not trusting a patient's medical opinions to his credit. He sometimes said things like 'there's no magic pill.' Things like that. Also didn't believe me that I didn't respond to cognitive-behavioral therapy, when I had received a lot of it in the past.Eventually, he did realize I was bright, frustrated, and was advocating for myself rather than having false hope. Everything changed. He was my doctor for years before I moved and pulled me out of a years long severe depression. He was able to accommodate me when I needed to be seen sooner than my next appointment.In the end, he proved himself to be a competent physician, but it took a while to break through to him. Once I did I don't have anything bad to say about him. He's also very friendly, which certainly helps with psychiatry. I would recommend him. I think he would give a patient quality care.

Do NOT go to him. I was having severe memory loss, confusion and loss of motor function. I spoke to him about this on multiple occasions. Only after going to neurology and reading many studies did I discover it was from a medication he was prescribing me. He NEVER brought up the fact that it was a potential side effect. When I asked him why he didn't he said it was because it was a rarer side effect. He NEVER apologized for not monitoring me properly. I was the one who had to hunt and figure out what was wrong. That's not my job. He's supposed to make sure prescriptions don't harm the patient.
