Such a great doctor
This is a really great doctor. Wait times can be a little excessive but i think that is the office scheduling too many people at once. He truly listens and wants to help you. he sits down and talks with you. What a gem

Very poor aquablation result. Seems to have made i
I met with Dr Nelson after driving from my hometown about 400 mi away. I had urine retention, and need to urinate very often. My prostate was large, but soft and non-cancerous. PSA tests were fine. My hometown urologist used a scope to look at prostate, bladder. He recommended the Turp procedure. I had researched aquablation. No one in my area performed it. I made one 900 mi round trip to consult with Dr Nelson, and then another for the surgery itself. I was under general anesthesia for the procedure. following surgery there was considerable blood loss. I had to wear a catheter for 4 days , causing extreme discomfort. Initially, my urine flow was much improved. It seemed I did not retain as much urine. But a year later, I'm going to the bathroom just as much or more. My urologist here in my hometown ran another scope. He said I got far less than an optimal result, with very little tissue removed from the prostate I really would not recommend aquablation. My results were not good.

DR. Nelson has a great understanding of what his patients are feeling and steps to take to improve their life. He has a great bedside manner. He has a sense of humor that breaks the ice so you talk freely about your condition.

I wish this office monitored their voicemail and emails that sent me to the hospital. Even after the hospital they wouldn't call me back. I was mis-prescribed medication even. A very disorganized practice and lack of interest in the care of their patients. I waited 3 months for an appointment, 90 minutes in exam room only to receive poor care.

Good Doctor Bad Practice
Dr Nelson was fabulous when I did get to see him. Took the necessary time and explained things well. The practice is terrible. Call center overseas to make appointments is impossible to understand nor make appointments as requested by the Dr. I required some follow up with supplies by his support staff. Dr Nelson emailed the nurses who never responded. Took multiple emails from me to get a response and then the response was incomplete. After multiple emails trying to get a response (you can’t call because the call center cannot help, nor understand what you’re asking for) I emailed the Dr and never did get a response. Patient care was non existent and my needs were relatively simple. I would not trust the practice with any follow up care if you can get an appointment. I would not go to this practice for anything that required any sort of follow up care. I am amazed that you can provide this level of care and still be in business.

Could not see Dr Nelson or PA Madison. Husband had bloody urine, burning in urethra. Could not get help so took him to him to hospital where he was diagnosed with a bad infection Wanted to send a very sick man to get a scan. They should have told me to take to hospital The staff at Dr Nelson didnt want urine sample just an appointment with PA a week in advance, He could have died waiting. Dr Nelson would not get involved. .No compassion or concern. Very disappointed with this Doctor and staff. Can't reach them. Go through a call center, Very poor set up, Have to jump through hoops to give information to Doctor, At Deer valley honor health hospital Doctor Nelson never saw my husband. Was treated by hospital doctors,

He 's not in a good practice
Gave the office a chance to settle this - they stood me up on appointments. Giving 1 star due to fact that Dr. and staff make you wait do not respect your time. They force you to wait 3months and then when you arrive another hour just to be told to take a pill and come back in 2 months for more tests. Then I had a VERY BAD reaction to the pill and nope, the doctor was not to be found. I am now in severe distress, pain, and also have my original issue. I got calls from NP's to stop taking the pill but they could not provide me medical treatment to assist on the reactions. A doctor and an office who cannot provide me treatment?? I am in the wrong place. Clearly the doctor does not have time or is afraid of something and I lost all confidence in this practice. Do not come here if you can help it.

Dr, Nelson is great, his team sucks
My Husband has gone to Dr. Nelson for over a year. He has prostate cancer at a young Age and it is advancing. We were told he needed to schedule surgery sooner than later. After 3 weeks of calling the office every day, to schedule this needed surgery, we have yet to get a call back. I am done with this place. Dr. Nelson is great, but his backend support sucks. I am very clear that they could care less about my husband or his cancer. Done, Done, Done! Like I said Dr. Nelson is great, but his offices lack of response is unacceptable (Which is a nice word for a curse word I would rather write). And don’t give me the everyone is short staffed! I run a team of 18 that should be 30 and they crush their goal every month. Dr. Nelson I think cares, but no one else there does! Don’t go you’ll just be set up for disappointment.

Dr. Nelson has treated my husband for several years, providing exceptional ability to treat a myriad of problems. In addition to the typical complications of prostate cancer, Dr. Nelson has proactively handled kidney problems. He is incredibly clear in his explanations, compassionate and thorough in dealing with complications, and always available to interact with other medical professionals to come up with the best outcome. He is a truly gifted physician! His medical staff, Shauna and Michelle are also impeccable. They are both extremely capable and professional, with the added gift of compassion and humor. They each bring great skill and ability to quickly, efficiently and proactively accomplish the scheduling of surgery, answering all questions thoroughly. By the time Dr. Nelson, Shauna and Michelle have taken care of all questions and details, we had incredible peace of mind. Thank you!

I had multiple forward plumbing problems that other Doctors had bee unable to resolve. I thought that since I was 78 it was just old age. I looked up Doctor Nelson & others on the Internet and picked him. I’ve seen him 4 times in the last 7 months and he has resolved all of my current forward plumbing problems. It turns out l had 3 UTI bugs that were the primary problem that another Doctor/ Test lab failed to discover. He’s the best Urologist in my life experience. Good staff too.

Dr Nelson was fantastic! He listened to my concerns and ensured the tests he ordered left no stone unturned. My hero sits at the front desk. Never in the history of my working with the front desk of doctors offices have I had the level of service I received from Fatima. She honestly went above and beyond for me as a new patient to the practice. Fatima you are the best and I appreciate you!

As a physician I can honestly say Dr Nelson and his staff were exceptional in every area of my healthcare experience. I was made to feel comfortable for what I considered an uncomfortable procedure. I was able to take medication prior to my vasectomy procedure which really helped relax me. I know other urologists don't allow for it and I think it made all the difference. The staff was great at calling me regarding my follow up lab results. I can't say enough positive things.
