Scary experience
Horrible experience with this doctor during an upper endoscopy and colonoscopy. I woke up in the middle of the procedure with huge pain. I was given an extra dosage of fentanyl that made me sleep through the whole day, until I was woken up at the end of the afternoon because the facility was closing. He was unable to provide useful for the procedure and I had to get it done somewhere else.

I got excellent treatment
In late September 2022, I had a gastro-intestinal bleed with dark tarry stools & emesis. I went to Huntington Hospital ER and was seen in a short time by Dr Rusha Modi, a gastroenterologist after I had been evaluated by the ER physician. Dr. Modi had an excellent bedside manner, taking as much time as I needed to answer my questions and reassure my wife and me. He did an upper endoscopy that showed a giant ulcer at the gastro-duodenal junction that had stopped bleeding. He took three biopsies that came back negative for H. Pylori and cancer. His explanations and discussion of future options were clear and understandable. I would be very happy to see him again if needed.

Zero communication skills, I expect my physician to explain in detail the results of the procedure, diagnosis, and recommended treatment, all I got were one sentence answers through emails, the only time he took time to sit and talk was when I was still under heavy sedation after the procedure and was incoherent to understand what was going on, even when asked about it days later, all I got were one sentence none answers.

I had a telemedicine appointment with Dr. Modi yesterday scheduled for 9:20 AM. The staff told me to check into the portal at 9 AM. I did then I waited and waited and waited. Nobody came on to say they were having difficulties or running late. I tried calling the office but was put on terminal hold. I finally got a call from a blocked number at 10:10. By this point I was seriously irritated bordering on disgust. Why do doctors think its okay to disrespect their patients time this way? If I treated my clients this way, I'd have no business. I expressed my frustration which he didn't handle well. His reaction was to blame his staff and take no responsibility. Beyond that I found him low in social skills, low in professional skill, and unhelpful. I've gotten more information from general google searches. There are better doctors out there, keep looking. I didn't treat him like a minor diety (get it - MD) like he expected. I treated him the way he treated me. Keep looking...
