Dr. Hashim and his team are the absolute best!
My mitral valve needed to be replaced. I heard and read that Dr. Hashim was the absolute best in the business.I felt so fortunate and grateful that I could have the surgery done by the best doctor anywhere.I consulted with him and his head nurse and office manager Sue Collazo started putting a package together with a future date for the surgery. She explained if any questions arose to please call her.My surgery date came and Dr. Hashim and his team replaced my mitral valve and did a procedure to fix my a flutter.I recovered rather quickly, and felt very good within a couple of weeks.I again feel so blessed to Dr. Hashim, Sue Collazo, and the rest of his team for fixing me.God Bless them!

No qualms in recommending Dr. Hashim.
Dr. Hashim gave us my husband for an additional 10 years which we would not have had due to his heart issues. My husband was able to enjoy his family, see our daughter marry and enjoy his cherished grandchildren. We are forever grateful as was my husband.

In a word, “miraculous.” My 89 year old mother, Mary Ann Bruzas, was a patient of Dr. Hashim. The initial visit was professional and thorough. Dr. Hashim recommended and performed cardiac surgery for my mom. Each contact with the office was punctual and Dr. and Suzanne went above and beyond to answer questions and keep us informed during the entire process. Dr. Hashim has given my mom a second chance on life. Her surgery was over a year ago, and she is thriving! We are grateful.

Hi, First I’d like to say I’m sorry that you are looking for a heart surgeon, it is a scarry place to be. I have gone through this three times since 2011, two aortic valve replacements and most recently a mitral valve replacement. Because this was my third open heart surgery, it is considered a very difficult procedure due to the scar tissue from the previous surgeries. The difficulty was compounded because during the second aortic valve replacement surgery, an annuloplasty ring was put around the base of my mitral valve to help the valve close tighter. So, during the mitral valve replacement, this ring had to be removed before the valve could be removed and replaced. This was not a normal surgery, and the surgeon had to be someone that has lots of experience dealing with non-standard procedures. My Cardiologist highly recommended Dr. Sabet Hashim to do this surgery. Before the scheduled date, I meet with Dr. Hashim and his team and was very impressed with the professional feel of al

I am 49 years old and recently underwent my third open heart surgery in March 2021. Dr Hashim replaced my mitral valve with a St Jude mechanical valve to match the mechanical aortic valve which he also replaced back in April 2008. Prior to that surgery, Dr Hashim was involved in overseeing the surgeon who performed a triple bypass LMBG and RMBG when I was 28 yrs young. Each surgery was more complex and riskier than the previous. Dr Hashim, Sue Collazo, and his entire team are incredibly talented and exceptional at what they do. Me and my entire family are forever grateful for their work saving my life THREE times. I am lucky and blessed. Thank you again and God bless.

I consider myself fortunate to be living in the Hartford area when I needed mitral valve replacement. In my pre-op visit, Dr. Hashim answered all my questions reassuringly. After I met with him, I had a long meeting with his nurse manager, Susan Collazo, who went over pre-op preparation in detail. Before and after, if I ever had a question, she responded to my email query amazingly quickly and very thoroughly. My mitral valve surgery on 8/23/2018 went remarkably smoothly and my recovery was quick and uneventful. Though I was asymptomatic beforehand, I feel distinctly better and stronger since the surgery. My deepest thanks to both Dr. Hashim and Susan Collazo.

Its been over a year now since my mitral valve repair. I met Dr. Hashim after becoming sick for the first time in my life. He assured me with confidence that he would help me feel better soon. Then Sue got busy and got everything organized for the surgery. On March 8, 2018, I had the surgery and it went well. Dr. Hashim was able to do a repair to my mitral valve rather than have to replace it (which is what we were hoping for). Dr. Hashim and his team provided me with a book of week by week ins

Dr.Hashim is now the Chief of Cardiology at Hartford Hospital, having moved from Yale-New Haven July 1. We had originally met with him at Yale-New Haven Hospital because of his expertise in mitral valve surgery, then followed him to Hartford for my surgery. His expertise in this procedure is unsurpassed. The surgery went well, the care at Hartford Hospital was excellent.

I had a mitral valve replacement jan 2016. Dr. Hashim was always straight forward and confident in which I loved. His nurse Sue was available anytime with answers to my questions. If anyone is seeking a surgeon for valve replacement or repair I would recommend Dr. Hashim without a doubt. Hands down the best surgeon! From day one he was straight forward and always answered my questions. He explained what was going to happen during and after surgery. Thank you for saving my life!
