front office staff
They only verify insurance the day before the appointment. I waited two months to get an appointment only to be called the day before and told that he is out of network. The person who called was Annali, she was abrupt in her manner and not helpful. She told me I would have to pay 3 co pays on the day of my appointment as they were doing three services. I do not do this for any other specialist that I see. so now I have to search for another cardiologist after two months of waiting for this one. Good luck getting to see the Doctor if you get past the horrible staff.

I have known Dr. Akbar for many years. He treated my mother in law back in 2005 and he was the most kind Dr. I have ever met. His bedside manners are the best and he has compassion. My mother in law moved here from New York and was having a hard time getting her insurance changed over, she needed to be under a cardiologist asap, we went to several Dr. and they wouldn't even see her until her insurance could get straight, Dr. Akbar was so nice to see my mother in law and continue for months taking care of her without insurance. I can assure you, he is the best Cardiologist in town. He treated my mother in law with dignity and respect at all times. With that being said, my husband and I both see Dr. Akbar. We tell people about him and his practice all the time, he has always remain the same, gentle kind hearted person. Thank you so much Dr. Akbar

I have been a patient since 2009, Dr. Akbar and his staff have helped me through the trauma of being a terminal cancer patient with uncurable esophageal cancer and the latest diagnosis of Trigeminal neuralgia, the most excruciating pain known to mankind has almost sent me over the top. I simply could not have lived this long without this kind, caring and compassionate medical provider.

I have seen him over a nine year period, only to end up in the emergency room and then have an emergency room doctor tell me what is going on. Dr. Ackbar has never taken any blood work in 9 years. He said the other day that he wanted me take the Z-Pack antibiotic, Wich comes with a warning label..... Paient's with an underlying heart condition...... States it can cause lethal cardiac fibrillation, yet he said it was fine for me to take when in fact I have mitro valve prolapse and extra beats.

He is not only my cardiologist; he treats me for most of my medical needs. He truly cares about his patients, and sets the standard for the profession. Dr. Akbar cared for my mother and her heart for almost a year. When she was in the hospital, he would explain things to us in ways we would understand, and would draw diagrams for us to help us how the heart should work and how my mother's was working. He gave my mother amazing care. After she passed away, he help my family deal with the aftermath of the process.
