Dr. Sankar Adusumilli, MD

My hernia was taken care of excellent fashion. He was professional and communicated well with my family after the surgery. Very happy with the outcome.

Back in 2008 I have 5 ER visits.. 2 previous drs .. THIS man.. not only figured out what was wrong and also fixed me... but held my hand when needed with compassion.!

After several failed imaging tests, I got a HIDA scan and I was referred to Dr. A to see if my gallbladder needed to be removed. While in his office, he was very informative by explaining how the gallbladder functions and why it’s not necessary. He gave me the option to either keep trying other pain management tactics or removing it. Due to this going on for 2 years, I wanted it removed so he agreed. Dr. A removed my gallbladder and I had no complications. Only downside is he has all patients arrive to the surgical center at the same time which is very time consuming if you’re waiting in the waiting area for a couple hours. I cannot thank him enough for his amazing work. He’s made me feel more comfortable than any other provider I’ve ever had.

Seven years ago I wrote a review on how Dr. Adusumilli saved my husband's life. At the time, little did I know that I would need his expertise after experiencing some rectal bleeding. After a thorough examination via colonoscopy, Dr. A. found that I had developed a stricture from previous surgical procedures that was impeding the flow of stool. In October I had a colectomy at Rex Hospital and was a patient for six days. During that time, I could NOT have asked for better care. Dr. A. to me is an angel who walks on earth. Those who have the luck of finding this dear, brilliant man will be blessed in whatever problem they encounter. He is hands-down the BEST colorectal surgeon in Raleigh.

Admin stuff is very unprofessional and rude! I have never had so much troubles just trying to communicate with an office. I’m trying to save them time for an upcoming appointment I have, because a previous office associate wasn’t able to answer my question.Office manager took over the call and was rude from the start. It doesn’t matter where the procedure is done to me, but I’ve been inquiring on whether you all do a certain procedure or not. The office manager said that you all don’t do it there, but you do it in a facility. Okay I asked well would I keep the appointment with you or do I make an appointment elsewhere to go to this facility. She said who said you need that procedure and I let her know I have results from a Surgeon I saw two months back and they and another doctor both suggested it. She said well we do many procedures. Okay, but do you do the specific one im asking for as it requires special expensive equipment to my understanding and not all colorectal surgeons have

I was admitted to Wake Med Cary for emergency surgery resulting from a perforated colon. I was lucky, Dr Adusumilli was the surgeon on call. At first, I just wanted to die because I did not want the colostomy. Dr Adusumilli, the kindest physician I have ever encountered, explained as they were taking me to the OR that he could reverse the colostomy in 3-6 months but first he needed to get me to the OR to save my life. Dr Adusumilli performed almost 8 hours of emergency surgery on me, indeed saving my life. True to his word, he reversed the colostomy 4.5 months later. I have now return to all my pre-surgical activities including swimming, biking, jogging and senior softball.

Dr. Adusumilli is an AWESOME Doctor. He performed surgery on my niece that had colon cancer about six years ago, she is doing great. She didn’t have to take chemo nor radiation. He is so understanding & caring, he doesn’t rush you when talking to him. Thanks again Dr. Adusumilli, you are the greatest!!!!

Dr Adusumilli is the very best colo-rectal surgeon is Raleigh. He is highly skilled in many procedures-- he is very kind, considerate and listens to his patients. Can't say enough about his excellent skills and the awesome care of his patients pre and post-op.

Yes, I would recommend Dr. Adusumilli very highly! He is very experienced and knowledgeable, careful, kind, explains things well, gives good instructions. I trust his recommendations implicitly. One couldn't ask for a better doctor.

It is rare to walk into a hospital and have nurses rave about a doctor which was my exact experience with Dr. Adusumilli - when my mom was in my care suffering from advanced dementia and some very serious G.I. issues, the doctor, I’m confident, literally saved her life! Add to that an amazing bedside manner and a level of caring and compassion we so rarely see now with many medical professionals. I would highly recommend this doctor to anyone in need of these services

He performed surgery on me back in 2010 and again in 2011.. He has got to be the best surgeon around in his area. If I hadn’t had him things would be a lot different for me now. It’s been over 10 years and I thank God to this day for Dr. Adusumilli. I’m doing great and owe it all to him..highly recommend!!!

My daughter recommend Dr. Adusumilli to me as she had worked with him. He performed a colon resection on me and cleaned up all my adhesions. I can't say enough good about this man. He is caring, patient, and a very skilled surgeon. He fixed all my problems that I had been dealing with for years.

During my visit time, doctor was seeing some one else and asked me to wait.And spent just less than 30 minutes and later charged for 45+ minutes. Check billing before you visit. Doctor is good .

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Adusumilli! From the first few moments of speaking with him, I knew he was just what I had been searching for, and I did search for an experienced surgeon to take care of me. I know all reviews you read about him talk about his sincere caring disposition and this is so true. When you have someone who cares like he does and has the experience to perform the surgery and give follow up care as he does, what else can you ask for. Dr. Adusumilli is top notch in my book!

I was thrown into GI nightmare following simple cyst removal.My family and I have been going through hell since August 2019. Dr. Adusumilli changed my life. I went from being in constant pain with deformity to a doctor with great knowledge and an even better character. He spends lots of time talking and explaining, generally caring about his patients. Can not thank him enough or recommend him and his office enough.

I am sadly disappointed in my surgery. I was not told the high level risk and I'm almost certain I asked. I am left to deal with gastroparesis, which I had to ask if I had this. No real instructions to deal with it and it is horendous to deal with. I was only offered meds and no real instructions instructions on how they interact with my current meds. Yes, I read reviews prior to seeking medical attention. But there was a lot lacking here. Dr adusumili said very little. I as a lay person had no knowledge of the madness associated with hernia repair. Shame, shame, shame.
