AVOID.
Treated my Mother in ICU. Spoke to him on the phone and he was dismissive, patronizing, and refused to answer basic questions about the plan for my Mom's care if one of the tests came back negative. I've never experienced a doctor like this. Avoid. Narcissistic

I've been seeing Dr. Haines with relative frequency for the last few years. I am surprised to see his low rating on this site which is what drove me to leave a review. I personally find him to be extremely knowledgeable as it relates to my condition. I have no problems with his bedside manner and find that he does a great job of explaining things in a way that I can easily understand and digest. He has been open to my opinions related to my overall care and I appreciate his ability to be straightforward with his recommendations. I have and will continue to recommended him to anyone seeking a neurology or neuro-ophthalmology consult.

He also told me that my vision problems were caused by depression and other psychological issues. Would not recommend him. Very dismissive and awkward. No bed-side manner.

Dr Haines was dismissive of the volume of medical records sent by the Neurologist where we previously lived. He showed no intellectual curiosity regarding my husband's rare form of dementia and little knowledge of the current research on the subject. He passed us off to another neurologist who also had little interest.

Having now visited Dr. Haines twice for a condition being monitored, I found him to be thorough, thoughtful, responsive and a good listener. Rather than dictating care, he spent a great deal of time reviewing the pros and cons of each option and decisions were collaborative. My internist has also communicated with him and found him responsive and helpful.

I have a severe anoxic brain injury and went to see Dr. Haines for my vision problems. He was unhelpful and proceeded to tell me that my vision problems were caused by "Depression," I wouldn't advise anyone to see him.

×Post a ResponseAre you Dr. Haines?
I would never recommend this doctor. He was uncaring in his assessment of my health concerns and his testing was rudimentary as well as callous. I feel that his arrogant nature could seriously injure someone if they came to him for help. He came off as a very egotistical person. Whom had already made his opinions of my condition from the moment I stepped through his office door.
