I was diagnosed with prostrate cancer on 2/28/21. I had several options to rid cancer. I chose surgery that was done on 6/17/21. The surgeon was Dr. Scott Thurman M.D. from Urology Partners in Fort Worth, Texas. My surgery was a success with very few side effects afterwards. In fact, I had no incontinence problems after the catheder was removed. This is remarkable since I am 74 years old. I attribute this success mostly to the experience of Dr. Thurman. He has done this surgery many times and is skilled in trying to avoid nerves as much as possible. I am very pleased with the outcome and my decision to have surgery. Dr. Thurman and his staff are wonderful. I would recommend them highly.

Dr Scott Thurman was the perfect surgeon for my prostate cancer. He literally saved my life. I’ve read some of these bad reviews and I’d like to let others know some people might have bad things to say. About a month after I had my surgery at USMD they sold out to another medical group. Before my 6 month follow up I started noticing new faces in the office. I then started getting letters from different urologists in the group that was leaving USMD. At my next follow up more new faces and very few people in the waiting room. When I originally started going there it was always full in the waiting room. On my next follow up there wasn’t a soul in the waiting room and even newer staff. By this time Dr Thurman had left and I was seeing his PA. I asked her what was going on and she told me the truth that all the Doctors had left and that this new bunch wasn’t good to work for. I found where Dr Thurman had went to and contacted them about moving my records from USMD to him.

My husband and I came to Dr Thurman for a second opinion after we were told he needed to have surgery to remove his prostate. After meeting with Dr Thurman we decided to have him do the surgery. He was professional, knowledgeable and courteous. The surgery that was performed was robotic and I feel that he was well trained in this area. He explained everything in layman terms of how he would do the surgery and what to expect after afterwards. I would highly recommend this doctor.

USMD Hospital Care was excellent. Excellent surgeon, but never saw him again, always a pa. Waiting in office was over an hour, hard time reaching office staff and at times rude. Had to wait 3 months for surgery while tumor was growing. Day scheduled surgery it was moved to following week , he had opportunity to go fishing with family member.

We find it very difficult to reach anyone in the office. When you call USMD you are connected to different operators from the Fort Worth and Arlington area. They tend to switch you from one operator to the next. I've spent an entire morning trying to reach a nurse. We have been frustrated to say the least. This is the worse service received medically. The staff does NOT seem to have good communication and tends to blame the operators. This is NOT professional nor good relations with patients.

Excellent hospital care and staff. Once Dr. Thurman does surgery you never get to see him again. You always see a PA.
