Dr. Shahin Chandrasoma, MD

Being a patient of Dr Chandrasoma for the last two years has been a blessing. Reading some of the comments in here blows me away. Since day one I’ve been provided great service. The Dr has answered every question I’ve asked and been detailed in his explanations. His goals seemed the same as mine that being getting me back to normal. I’ve been comfortable with all aspects of my experience with this Doctor. Main thing is I’m cancer free because of him.

Just a horrible person with no heart or conscience. Medically a great Dr BUT needs to learn humility and compassion. I will always be grateful for the surgery he did but the incident after is one that hurts to this day. At my follow up appt this Dr felt the necessity to berate & humiliate me in front of his assistant for being late paying my bill, went on a long rant yelling that I was a bad person for not paying my bills after he performed his job (even though insurance had paid their portion), continued on that I needed to get back to work so I could pay my bills and that there was no way I should still be in pain 2 months after surgery, and then denied me service that day. I just had reconstructive surgery on my kidney & hadn’t worked in over a year due to the health issue at hand & having been in constant unbearable pain the entire time. It took everything in me to hold it together & gracefully leave, but when I got to the car I broke down. Then used my last $5 to pay parking.

Came to see Dr. Parakrama T Chandrasoma in 2019 at Urology Associates Medical Group . I wanted to do a semen analysis in preparation for fertility. And his response was that it is not necessary as the probability of male having issues with semen is not that large and most likely the issue is with my female partner. We believed him and followed his medical advice since we thought he is a professional. We were chasing a ghost for two years until another doctor said it is only logical to check both partners. Which we did. It is a disgrace to a medical society having doctors who cannot even give proper medical advice. Check all the reviews when you choose a doctor. Never choose this one.

God complex! This guy has obviously forgotten the AMA code of ethics which states patients have the right ... "3. To ask questions about their health status or recommended treatment when they do not fully understand what has been described and to have their questions answered." He rants and raves and then reports that you are "disruptive" for resisting his manipulation tactics. Ugh! Stay away from there unless you want high blood pressure ;(

1. Not attentive, considerate, compassionate. Doesn't ask about patient history. He should show more respect and courtesy. 2. I asked a question which I already knew the answer and he did not answer my question correctly. 3. Is he a good surgeon? Is he doing the best he can for me? Would another Urologist do better, worse? Can't answer these questions, no one can. The office is an old house converted to a medical office. Just doesn't seem clean and sanitary for exams and procedure. Explains fairly well-needs improvement.

This Dr need to be disbarred from the medical profession. Spent a year with this person billing the insurance company and not doing anything for me as a patient. He clearly doesn’t give a care except how many patients he can see and bill in a day.

This "doctor" is the worst doctor I have ever met. All he did was fat shame me. Told me I was "obese", "fat", "dehydrated", told me to lose a bunch of weight by "running in a swimming pool". He talked over me, argued with me, and has no personality whatsoever. You couldn't pay me to see him ever again!

What a nightmare! Saw him because my regular urologist was on vacation. First he made it clear he was not happy to be seeing another doctor's patient. I told him I could not wait because I was in a lot of pain. Then he mocked me stating I was not in pain because was able to walk in there. Then he yelled at me as they did not get paid for my visit last month by my insurance (I had paid the copay, insurance caught up later). He begrudgingly ordered a catscan. My doctor was back 2 days later and the catscan results showed very good reason for my pain. Chandrasoma does only the minimum, he is mean and only cares about money. He would do better to work in a collections agency! I've been an RN for 30 years. I would get fired for treating a patient like that.

Dr. Chandrasoma is my favorite urologist ever. I wish all doctors were as good as he is. I grow kidney stones so I have unfortunately had too much experience with them. Dr. Chandrasoma is absolutely the best!!

I love this doctor. Excellent at explaining medical conditions. Always gives me options of what to do and explains the benefits and negatives of each choice.

THE WORST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will leave it at that!

Dr is very inconsistent from one patient to the next. Also has a female assistant present which is very uncomfortable.

Very pleased with Dr. Chandrasomas care for my mom. He was very respectful and thorough in explaining her medical condition. Would highly recommend him.

Dr Chandrasoma proved to be a phenomenal doctor. I was diagnosed with a malignant tumor in my kidney. He explained in great detail what surgery would entail, providing in depth description of the three potential types of surgery I might undergo. I was blessed that the surgery he performed was a partial to biotic nephrectomy. The incisions were small, and exerpertly performed. Thank you Dr, Chandrasoma.

Adding to all shortcomings are the billing issues. I received statements in which they were trying to collect more than the Patient Responsibility amount stated in the Explanation of Benefits provided by the health insurance company.

He may be well trained and up to date with medical science, but he has a lot to learn about human interactions. He is arrogant and bullying, and uses intimidation to try to gain respect. I would not recommend him to family or friends.

I had no issues. He covered all my issues and was responsive. Has a dry sense of humor but that works for me. Was matter of fact about a matter of fact issue.

He is arrogant, does not give a chance to the patient to talk or ask questions. Acts like he is God. He is disrespectful and belittling. No concern whatsoever about the emotional standing of the patient. absolutely horrible.
