Dr. McKenzie, is very patient, informative and caring. he speaks to me the patient in terms I can easily understand, he gives next steps, options and follow ups that are needed to address the issue. I’ve had him as my doctor for my foot and knee issues.

Excellent Orthopedic Physician
Dr. McKenzie is very caring. He listens intently. Takes the appropriate examination with X-rays and tests. Gives an honest assessment and provides the best care for your condition. Has a gentle touch when administering injections. I highly recommend him.

Knee Evaluation Discussion
With multiple surgeries behind me, Dr McKenzie accepted that I had some knowledge about what was going on, he laid out the options and took the time to talk through them and explain something when I questioned him, all w/o an attitude, which I’ve run into before, and so appreciated the discussion we were able to have

Dr. McKenzie is professional in every manner. If you are going to have surgery on your ankle or lower joints, see him first or at least get a second opinion from him. I do not give 5 star ratings often, but Dr. McKenzie is well deserving of a 5/5 rating. As a veteran utilizing the VA system, I was most impressed. Often it is stated the VA is not on par with outside professionals, but in this case we have one of the best Orthopedic Surgeons in the DVM area treating military veterans. He took the time to explain the procedure, after effects, prognosis and wellness. My appointments with him were on time, not rushed, detailed, and well explained with all my questions answered. We are fortunate to have such a caring doctor as Dr. Shelton McKenzie.

Dr. McKenzie has been an outstanding physician for me. His continue medical advice to insure that my knee replace is to a 100 % recovery. When calling to get advice he never fails to call you back in timely manner. I will not see another doctor, beside Dr. McKenzie. Thank you.

Dr McKenzie did a total left knee replacement on me June 21,2019, & I was back to work in no time with help from my Howard University Physical Therapist & with me doing the therapy at home , the surgery was a success, he is a great Dr & I recommend him to everyone that needs an orthopedic Dr ????...
