Dr. Sourasack Vongsa, MD

He is very rude and dismissive of my lower back problem. Kept insinuating it’s because I am “fat” and that I need to just be more active. Mind you I’m in busy season and a CPA but don’t worry he made it clear he also works long hours and I’m not the only one. At the end of the appointment, he told me to solve my lower back problem is to be more active and take ibuprofen. Additionally, I am an active individual and play tennis every week. I hurt my back playing pickleball ironically but I guess that’s not enough activity in his book. He told me I need to walk at least 5 times a week and that leisure walks are pointless. I need to get my heart rate up and that will also increase my metabolism. I was there for my lower back problem not a weight loss consultations. The most horrible doctor and worst bedmanner I have ever met.

I went to ThedarCare Urgent Care facility in Neenah with my 96-year-old Grandmother today. She was in pain from a recent case of Shingles and was seeking help. At 96, she is sharp as a tack, articulate, and communicates better than most of the population. However, Dr. Vongsa was instantly agitated with her and did not listen to what she was trying to say to him.I understood what she was describing thoroughly. However, he continued to repeat what she was saying to him incorrectly and became upset when she corrected him with what she was actually experiencing. Dr. Vongsa displayed zero compassion for her pain and did not even take the time to discuss any potential remedies for the situation. He told her she would need to see her primary care physician and walked out of the room. Overall, I am highly disappointed in the level of care displayed by Dr. Vongsa. ThedaCare should be ashamed by his behavior.

Came in for a tick bite. He was very assuring that I’d be fine and he gave some advice on future removal of it and what not to do. He did not judge and was respectful.

He was rushed. Didn’t give me the opportunity to even speak. He asked me when I had my tonsils removed.. The thing is, I still have my tonsils. He recommended some over the counter meds that I can’t even take because I Diabetes and high blood pressure. Total idiot.

I had an experience with Dr Vongsa similar to “Concerned Nurse”. He spent very little time with me, was dismissive of my situation, was condescending when I expressed frustration with his bedside manner and did little to make me feel like I was heard. I will never return to Thedacare Urgent Care simply because I do not want to see him again.

Came in with acute sore throat, ear pain, and pain in the back of neck, he dismissed what I was saying, was condescending, and zero help, diagnosed me with fibromyalgia and acid reflex. I'm a nurse who works in the same system and was completely embarrassed that he practices at Theda. Definitely incompetent.

Dr Vongsa is the worst physician I have ever seen. I saw him at urgent care with severe sciatica. He offered no help or useful advice.
