Great Doc!
Dr. Hoover has treated nearly every member of my family for finger, hand, and arm injuries, including two requiring surgery. He's gone above and beyond each time. He is no-nonsense and takes time to explain what he is doing or going to do. He makes you feel confident in making medical decisions. This was especially true when my two boys had fairly bad broken arms. I unequivocally recommend Dr. Hoover.

Did more harm than good.
Dr Hoover attended to an injury on the last joint of my ring finger being caught in machinery. The ER gave me 9 stitches and his referral due to a small open fracture. Dr H explained he would pin the free floating fragment to keep the finger from healing deformed. His description of pinning did not include the large contraption that resulted and bumped into everything painfully for 8wks to result in a deformed finger that is painful with limited movement. He claims he won’t do surgery to release tendon stiffness for a year. It is typical to have “stiff finger” after no movement for 8wks. Options should have been discussed on the initial visit since this treatment has led to more harm than good. Perhaps removing the small bone chip? When I complained of the pin cage bumping everything with pain he seemed annoyed, did not give options, and offered to stop treatment. My way or the highway syndrome. I’m looking for another Dr.

I was extremely apprehensive about having endoscopic carpal tunnel surgery, but Dr. Hoover listened to my concerns and made me feel much more comfortable with doing the procedure. In the end, I could not be more pleased with the results—you can’t even see my scar! And I had no pain or other complications afterward. I wish he still lived in my community and was available to do my other hand now that I seem to be having issues with it.

The greatest experience ever!! From the first appointment to surgery and now healing. Let's not leave out the staff! I had so much fun with the staff I thought I was with family and friends. The professionalism of the staff is immeasurable. I had my stitches taken out on the 21st and it is now 25 August. I just don't believe how it's healing so fast. As far as a scar? I don't think there will be one he made the incision right on the crease of my hand. Thank you Dr. Hoover ??????
