Proximal Hamstring Tendon Repair
Dr. Kwak performed proximal hamstring tendon repair back in July. I didn't spend much time researching different surgeons as time was of the essence. Luckily, Dr. Kwak couldn't have been a better choice. He's got that rare combination of precision and personality. I had an abnormally bad version of this injury, and yet recovery seems to have surpassed everything I've read online. Very little pain and excellent outcome 3.5 months post op. I couldn't be more grateful. Special props to his excellent staff as well. His coordinator Angie is incredibly responsive and caring. I'm lucky.

Dr. Kwak performed a complicated 270deg labrum tear on my left shoulder, and a repair of a bucket-handle tear of my right knee meniscus, saving the whole healthy meniscus rather than just trimming it all out. Both had bone marrow aspirate infusions. This was difficult and time-consuming work. I feel he really did the most that could be done to get the best results, and the results were outstanding. (While he was at NJOS in Teaneck NJ)

Office policy requires deposit regardless of having insurance coverage. I had an appointment when I showed up staff said they called to tell me which I did not receive and let me know they require $250 up front. My insurance confirmed that the office visit would be covered and when I said I didn’t have it they cancelled my appointment and told me to leave.

$250 non-negotiable deposit for simple office visit even if "in network". Unheard of. Stupid staff can't even tell you how much it will actually cost. Spoke to 4 of them too, all incompetent. Also, they will not disclose Dr.'s basic fee for simple office visit. How much do you charge? Well how much do you got? No other business would get away with this level of price opacity. BS, move on. Find an ethical practice...haha...and good luck with that.

My 77 year old mom recently had a TKR surgery performed by Dr.Kwak , and asked me to write the most favorable review. Aside from having a reputation of a very skilled knowledgeable and orthopedic surgeon , Dr. Kwak's demeanor and trustworthiness convinced my very hesitant mom to go for a surgery. It took me two years to persuade her to come for a consultation, and it took Dr. Kwak just a few minutes to explain the condition, and have her change her mind. We are forever grateful !!!!

Dr KwaK is honest and doesn't try to push you into anything. My son who is an athlete and myself have been going to him for years . My son had an injury and was having problems while we were away in Florida he called us back within the hour , he always returns phone calls which does not happen very often anymore. Great doctor

Dealing with Dr. Dwak's office staff (particularly Tracy, the office manager) was one of my worst experiences in contacting a doctor's office. I was referred to Dr. Kwak by a family member who spoke very highly of him. Unfortunately, I was so turned off by Tracy and the rudeness of the office staff, that I am going elsewhere.
