Dr. Steven Cunningham, MD

Dr. Cunningham has all the traits that I could imagine a doctor can have: knowledgable, professional, calm, patient and responsive. He is also super friendly and is a pleasure to talk to. I just had an extremely smooth gallbladder removal surgery with him. He turned a potentially scary experience into a memorable moment in my life. For that, I am forever grateful from the bottom of my heart.

Dr.. Cunningham and his office are wonderful. He was very thorough in reviewing my case, looking at all previous tests and having his radiologists also look at the MRI while I was there. He then explained the problem, reviewed the solutions and guided me to a plan. In addition, I feel that he cares about more than just a case; he truly cares about the whole person -medically and emotionally. Now if we could just clone him!

Dr. Cunningham has a great bedside manner. He educated me on the function of the gallbladder, why it may not be functioning properly, and what my options were. I decided to have surgery, and my mom and I were confident that it would go well, and it did. After the surgery, my mom looked at my incisions and was very pleased with how neat and small my incisions were. We were also pleased that I experienced a low level of discomfort. In my follow-up appointment with Dr. Cunningham, he gave me information as to what to expect, addressed my question, and said I could contact him if I have any concerns or issues. Dr Cunningham studies each case prior to visit, thoroughly explains disease state and treatment options in easy to comprehend language. He follows up personally w patients (gives cell number to call post-op during recovery). He is one of the best physicians in MD. Highest recommendation

I was fortunate enough to have Dr. Cunningham take on my case upon being admitted into the ER Department of Saint Agnes Hospital for an episode of pancreatitis. This Surgeon has followed my case since the initial onset even through today always showing compassion and a genuine concern for my quality of care above all else. If you require a surgeon related to gallbladder and/or pancreas related illnesses this Dr. is highly skilled and has excellent bedside manner (a rarity in doctors today).

Dr. Cunninghams professionalism and knowledge is excellent. My husband and I were quickly put at ease because of how comfortable and direct he spoke to us. At every step along the way of my husbands illness he explained or his staff so we understood what to expect. His team of surgeon were also very good! The main nurse for him is Amanda and she was wonderful. Quickly set up anything that was required and with a smile. Thank you Dr. Cunningham you are truly a gift from God!! We were blessed!!
