Dr Rauch is a vile human being. I saw first hand the Dr Jekyl and Mr. Hyde act. The first time I saw him he was EXTREMELY unpleasant. Rude, dismissive, cocky, didn't listen, didn't speak. Handed me some pre-printed out handouts and walked out. The second time I saw him, he had a bunch of colleagues shadowing him and he was a different man, HELD ACCOUNTABLE by his peers for his demeanor. In 48 years old seeing doctors, I think he's the worst, hands down. He's an absolute wretched man.

Unrpoductive visit.
Unprepared, dismissive, and rude doctor. All I got was a pamphlet about migraines as he exited the door. He disparaged the doctors that I had seen 'they don't know anything' and actually argued with me about whether i had really ever had a sinus infection. He hadn't even bothered to read my questionnaire or my history before the visit.

Waste of time
I agree with the other negative reviews and had a similar experience.I feel he did not look at my records prior to the appointment and when I tried to explain what I was experiencing he kept interrupting me. He didn't want to hear what had helped me in the past and I found it difficult to articulate the total picture of my symptoms, especially how I feel on medications vs when I'm not on medications. He didn't do a physical exam and his solution was that I should get massages. I do not have neck pain or headaches. It felt dismissive and I have little faith in his advice. I agree his demeanor came across as arrogant and uncaring.

Left his care and compassion at home
What an arrogant, insensitive person! He did nothing to explain what vestibular migraines are nor the cause. He totally dismissed my questions and thoughts about my diagnosis. He just handed me some printed information and basically left me feeling I have to figure out my own treatment. As a medical professional I was very disappointed.

Outstanding Meniere's Disease Care
I was very impressed with Dr. Rauch. Knowledgeable, thorough and kind. There's a reason he's THE doctor to go to with a Meniere's diagnosis. He explained options, procedures, and outcomes. We waited several months for an appointment, but it was well worth the wait! Office staff at the Braintree location were very compassionate and were kind enough to call with a cancellation so I was able to get in a month earlier.

Great experience
I had a positive experience with Dr. Rauch. He listened to my concerns and provided very useful information about my condition. Although there is no cure for my condition (tinnitus), Dr. Rauch gave me tips and suggestions for coping with it. I left the office feeling satisfied and hopeful for the future. He is very courteous and professional.

Horrified and left with no answers
Went to Dr. Rauch as a referral after suffering with vestibular migraine and balance disorder for over 4 years. I have seen 3 specialists and have been working with my own Neurologist and ENT already. Throughout the appointment it was very apparent that he did not prepare and read my records that I had worked months prior to ensure were sent over ahead of time for this appointment. I was at the point of needing the next level of help with my condition as just managing things with conservative care was not working and I had tried several medications with no luck. He was very rude and dismissive towards me throughout the appointment. He talked to me as if he was lecturing me. He gave me paperwork on managing my triggers and started going through a list and when I told him I already have done this he told me to just let him finish the list. Then said this is all he has for me and he can do no more to help. I tried to ask him about other options but he just said no to go to my doctors.

Do not recommend
Dr. Rauch is a typical posh harvard doctor. He did not listen to any of my important previous test results and just threw some pamphlets at me for vestibular migraine. Very dismissive. But at least I think I have a diagnosis?

I had the pleasure of receiving care from Dr Rauch for many years with extremely complicated ear issues including cholesteatoma and otomycosis. The amount of time and care he rendered will always stand out as a memorable and impressive experience. He is a true master of his craft.

Excellent care
Dr. Rauch is very approachable and listens well. His method of communication by typing on a screen was very helpful to me who has limited hearing and relies on lip reading. He diagnosed my condition and laid out a plan going forward. I have seen many doctors and he was the first that has given me hope that I can improve.

Saw Dr. Rauch for inner ear/balance condition. I found him to be very personable and professional. He asked many questions, listened to my answers and followed up. Several suggestions and insights were things I had never heard from other providers I had seen for this issue over the years. He spent over an hour with me and gave me several treatment options to try to improve my balance and orientation.

I’m so shocked to see negative reviews about Dr. Rauch. I’m a young female who’s been struggling with dizziness for months, and I have seen several doctors who had not one clue what was wrong with me. He listened to me carefully and was not rude, arrogant, or condescending. I actually thought he was super nice and did an excellent job of explaining what condition he thought I had and how to control it. To respond to someone else’s complaint, she complained he didn’t prescribe medication right away. I think this fact actually made me like Dr. Rauch even more because he clearly doesn’t want to randomly push medication, but would rather me feel better through natural changes like diet, alcohol, avoiding bright light, etc. I felt so much better after my appointment with him and would highly recommend him.

Seriously, this doctor is abusive. He is an arrogant bully, totally lacking in sympathy. Is there any accountability out there for abusive doctors? Seems like they can get away with anything. At least one third of the comments here about Dr. Rauche say he is arrogant, unsympathetic, uninformed about patients' histories, and often contradicts other doctors without any concern or explanation. He was/did all of these things with me. I see no evidence that he will ever change and though the staff is wonderful, Mass Eye and Ear, please take some action against this guy!
