Dr. Steven Sloan, MD

I was referred to Dr Sloan for pain management from my neurologist. He took the time to explain everything that could be done. He is very kind and considerate. I am on pain management until my injection appointment. I would definitely recommend him.

A couple of months ago I went to another pain specialty clinic who shall not be named and was extremely dissatisfied with the clinic and doctor. After looking for another clinic, I came across Pain Specialists of America San Marcos and Dr. Sloan. After todays visit with Dr. Sloan, I believe strongly that I made the right decision. He took time to explain my issue, brought out a model of the spine to explain in great detail what was causing my pain and entertained my questions about the pain and treatment. He recommended a couple of treatments to get rid of the pain. I like having control of my decisions when it comes to options about treatments. I look forward to working with Dr. Sloan in solving my pain issues in a most conservative method. I can recommend Dr. Sloan without any reservation.

Oh My Goodness!!! I have “never” felt more comfortable with a Doctor. Dr. Sloan, never-ever was in a hurry. He took the time to show, explain every little detail. Dr. Sloan actually took the extra time. Not only to review my records and reports from other Doctor. He did his on review. I left comfortable during the entire visit. There is a possibility I might need injection. I’m not concerned, not worried, that Dr. Sloan will not take care of me. But, will go the extra mile to see to it. I rate Dr. Sloan “WAY” further on the scale of 10. 10tttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt!

Dr. Sloan is compassionate and very professional. He tells you what he is doing so there is no surprises. I was very comfortable during the entire procedure. I highly recommend Dr. Sloan for treatment of back pain.

I'm very pleased with the treatment I've received from Dr. Sloan. He is patient, explains issues clearly, and outlines treatment options and possible consequences in a manner that simplifies the selection of options.

Dr. Sloan took plenty of time at the appointment to make sure I understood all the different aspects of my treatment. He has a friendly, relaxed bedside manner. I will certainly return to see him if the need arises.

Couldn't ask for a better doc visit was my first time seeing him and was nervous from past experiences but he was great and made me feel right at home and actually listened to me and it just felt like he genuinely cared for me so I felt like I had to give a review which I've never done before. He listens to me and explains what his plan for my treatment will be. I feel as if I am involved in the decision making process. He gives me options. I sense he is genuinely concerned about reducing and/or eliminating my pain. I feel much better since I met him and give him an A. And he is nice.

Dr. Sloan's listening skills are excellent. He always listened closely for how my symptoms had changed since he last saw me.

Finding a trustworthy physician is a vital element of treatment, at least for me it is. My experience as Dr. Sloan's patient was unique, complex, and challenging, and that goes for both of us. After a traumatic experience (assault) at another practice, Dr. Sloan welcomed me to his practice and never let me down. He tried his best to explain medical jargon in layman's terms, he answered any questions I brought with me, and he was efficient. Dr. Sloan is busy, there may be a wait. It's worth it.

I was seeing Dr. Sloan for several months when I was having a terrible low back flareup. He is always too brief during our appointments which never lasted longer than 5 mins and sometimes were as short as 3 mins. I would say that if you want to get an epidural and they have worked for you in the past, this doctor is extremely good at this procedure, the staff for that is very good. But the front desk staff is awful, they don't notify you of any delays or problems while ur waiting like an idiot
