This doctor promised personal care and follow up. She touted her accessibility. That could not have proven farther from the truth. She was only reachable after landing in the ER post-surgically and after my condition progressively worsened post surgery until coming to a resting place in radically worse and permanently damaged condition than I was pre-surgically. Every follow up appointment only availed nurse options — not the doctor/surgeon. Then she suggested I make a 3 hour drive to have another in person appointment with her despite acknowledging no viable care options other than more surgery — that I would never in a million years entertain (and certainly not with this surgeon) after this ordeal. Get at least 3 opinions and listen carefully to the others. I wish I would have. I was left in a condition that was never explained as a potential at the onset and treated like it was “minor” and no big deal that I was left in far worse condition than I started.

Dr. Gearhart has been my doctor for 13 years and my whole family sees her. She has great bedside manner and is very personable and caring. I highly recommend her and I love her staff! She saved my life, a brilliant doctor and surgeon, I had stage 4 colon cancer. I'll never see anyone else!

She is the best colon rectal surgeon in the world. She performed my Ileonal Reservoir (J-pouch) surgery 13 years ago, and I have had no post operative issues.

Dr. Susan Gearhart is simply an angel amongst us! She is a consummate professional who practices medicine/ surgery with compassion. She recently performed laproscopic surgery to remove a stage 1 cecum cancer from my intestine. At my first pre-operative clinic meeting with Dr. Gearhart she put my mind at ease (my blood pressure that was elevated immediately returned to normal). She and her surgery team took outstanding care of me from then on to my post-operative care. I Highly recommend her!
