Dr. Susann Clifford, MD

Dr. Clifford provided me with one of the worst experiences of my life in the span on 20 minutes. She was extreamly dismissive and rude. She did not listen to any of my concerns and just chalked everything up to my size even though I have been the same weight for years and am not having new issues. She told me to get weight loss surgery instead of offering treatments for my PCOS. the other reviews are correct in she is super rused and makes rude faces the entire appointment. Its doctors like her that make people afraid of seeing medical help for their isses. She isjust another ignorant doctor who doesnt actually listen to their patients because all fat people are fat because they are lazy or eat too much. Please do not go to her if you have PCOS or are overweight.

I made a same day visit for very heavy bleeding and pain. I needed to bring both of my small children to the visit because it was last minute and I couldn't get childcare. Dr. Clifford was rude to me and both my children, and she lacked empathy in her bedside manner: if you didn't bring your children to this appointment I'd take this polyp out of you now. It felt as if she was very ready to be done with her day and I was keeping her from that. I definitely urge you to find any other practitioner at Duke - there are so many better ones!

Dr. Clifford was rushed and impatient during my 39 week prenatal appointment. I had some standard questions about delivery practices and she was rude and condescending, ultimately not answering any of them. As she "responded" she made very rude facial expressions that showed her irritation and condescension. My husband was at the appointment and we were both stunned by her behavior. Truthfully, she is the rudest physician I've ever interacted with.

She was quite impersonal & condescending when helping to delivering my last child. She does not have great people skills and was quite rude at times. I can tell she is not use to other cultures beside the mainstream. I would not recommend her for OB services. I would highly recommend Dr. Angel Nieves (he was AWESOME!)

Would not recommend for hysterectomy. Her bedside manner was terrible. When she visited me the following day from surgery, her comment to me was "most of my patients go home the same day as their hysterectomy". She is quiet vain about her looks. On a follow up visit, she continuously looked past me and adjusted her hair in the mirror. I will say she got the job done and removed the organs without killing me.

Dr. Clifford is the best in her field--she is an extremely intelligent physician who takes time to talk over any medical issues that may concern you. Her office staff is also excellent--everyone is very professional--I cannot recommend anyone higher than Dr. Clifford!

Went in for a 20 week appointment with some concerns over the baby's heart rate. We said we were a pregnant from an IVF cycle (not our first one). She basically told me just to stop worrying. It wasn't very comforting for a pregnant woman and husband with so much worry about losing their pregnancy. I also asked to see my weight chart like the other provider had showed me last time, and she just said, you're fine, I looked at the chart. Keep doing what you're doing. Just rushing us out.

Impatient and bad mood
