Dr. Teck-Mun Soo, MD

Dr. Soo performed emergency surgery on my back after I fell off a ladder. I am so grateful that he was willing to reroute his day and get to the hospital ASAP. His compassion is apparent as he retells the story of seeing me for the first time hunched over and moaning in pain. He quickly got to work and because of his experience and special techniques, I am now walking again. Thank you Dr. Soo. I believe that God chose you specifically to do my surgery because He knew you would do it best. I am grateful to both of you. Thank you for using your talent, knowledge, and wisdom to help others.

Dr Soo is still the greatest. He helped me when no one else could.

Most compassionate Dr out there. He listens - he explains- he is the best. Dr Soo put me back together after I broke my back from a fall. I now have 4 - 10 inch rods in my back and able to walk again. He is a man of his word. I feel he’s a miracle worker and his staff too!!!! Straightforward no BS from him or his associates. Dr. Soo is very straight forward and right to the point . Which is a good thing. He performed my back surgery on June 2, 2023. I went in on July 3, 2023 for my one month check up and I am walking good and my back is straight. Dr. Soo did an great job on my back. I feel so much better. I look better. The text message that I received before and after my surgery were very helpful and right on point, Thank you Dr. Teck Soo.

I was very nervous and scared about my condition. I had tried physical therapy, and other alternative treatments. When those ultimately didn’t cure my condition, I came to Dr. Soo for help. He immediately put me at is with his calm presence. He reminded me of my Sensei! I thought this was very fitting because he really is a teacher. I am forever grateful for his healing hands and thank God for connecting me with him. I have a few more weeks of recovery but my quality of life is finally back on the right path.

Dr. Soo is dedicated and devoted. He is the best at what he does and is extremely knowledgeable about neurosurgery. He even found the cancer on my face! Thank you Dr. Soo for everything you have done for me! I highly recommend you to everyone!

I’m writing this review today… because I’m alive and I can. Back on September 10, I was directed by Dr. Teck Soo to go to the Ascension Providence Southfield Emergency room and he would meet me. I called his office as three days prior I started having severe sharp back pain I thought was muscular that on about the third day I lost 50-70% use of my left hand and forearm, had shooting pain and numbness down both arms, legs and tingling in my feet. At the hospital I had an MRI and CT scan where it was determined I would need my 3rd cervical spinal surgery and fusion now between C7 and T1 due to a disk and bone spurs that were paralyzing me. I am thrilled that I am alive, not paralyzed and that my left forearm and hand are progressing so quickly. It is about 2-months post-surgery. I want to thank everyone involved in my successful surgery and recovery at Ascension St. Johns Providence Hospital Southfield. Everyone, and I mean everyone who took care of me was great. I did not meet one grumpy or disengaged staff member. If not for the surgery, it was a very pleasant stay. I never had to call for anything as they were always there. Thank you to all of you so much and for taking such good care of me. Thank you so much Dr. Soo for taking such good care of me, saving my life and keeping me mobile on my feet and active. I had surgery with Dr Soo in Sept 2021. I had so much pain before that. I would come home from work and would want to go right to bed. My quality of life was terrible. After spinal fusion surgery, I felt great!! I would recommend Dr Soo to anyone!

Dr. Soo did surgery on my back. I no longer have the lower back and leg pain. My recovery from the procedure has gone well. Dr. Soo answered all of my questions and his staff is very efficient. I would recommend Dr. Soo to anyone needing spinal surgery.

Dr. Soo is such an amazing neurosurgeon. I injured myself as a young man in the military and I’ve had a long history of dealing with neurosurgeons. If it were not for his skills and compassion I don’t know where I would be, most likely in a wheelchair. Trust is huge for me and to to give a doctor 100% of my trust not easy. Dr. Soo has treated me for 10 years and I have 100% confident in his skills. His compassion for his patience is unparalleled to others. I’ve directed people to his office was very positive outcomes. His qualifications and intellect are not worn on his sleeve with arrogance but rather compassion. I trust this doctor with my life and the outcome of any surgical intervention 100%!

My pain was diagnosed as back related and physical therapy was prescribed. After numerous sessions, there was only short term relief which disappeared when I did any strenuous exercise. I fortunately found Dr. Soo and was diagnosed as having an SI joint problem, in need of surgery to fuse the joint. I was concerned about the the extent of rehab and recovery time. Dr. Soo told me that with his proprietary technique, I would walk out of the hospital the same day and only had to minimize stress on the joint for 3 months and the fusion would be complete in 6 months. Everything went just as he said, and I am now back to playing tennis 3 times a week and working out 3 other days weekly. Outstanding doctor. Mel (83 years old)

Dr. Soo and his team are the best! I had spinal fusion in 2019 and at that time he said I would need an additional surgery on my SI Joint. Well, it’s 2022 and that time has come. Dr. Soo and his team are the best out there. I wouldn’t trust my spine to anyone else. I would have liked to ask some questions but he was already out the door. Oh well, I have all the confidence in the world in him and I enjoy him and he has a great sense of humor. He has a proven track record and the confidence. He is not going to coddle you but he will do right by you.

Dr Soo is a great Dr. Specializing in severe cases with great outcomes. I would recommend him to anyone who needs surgery, or who has had failed previous surgeries with little or no help or continued success. I had three previous back surgeries with very little success. Dr Soo has improved on my quality of life tremendously. My only drawback to my surgery was, the pain meds were not effective medications directly after the surgery. I highly recommend Dr Soo

I've had many injuries over my life (auto, sports, work, home ect.) Which has led to multiple spine surgeries. Dr. Soo has performed a Lumbar Fusion, right SI Joint Fusion, and just recently a C4 thru C7 neck fusion on me. I can't thank him enough for fixing these issues and giving me a the ability to have a good quality of life moving forward. He has an unprecedented skill and a genuine care for a positive outcome for his patients. When examining you, he fully explains what problems he has found and how he can help you. Dr. Soo not only explains the recovery process but also how best to move forward with work and life to minimize future problems and moving forward with a positive mental approach. This review/referral is LONG overdue.... My name is Dale Long (65 years old), and I was lucky, and blessed, to be a patient to Dr. Teck Mun Soo. In late June of 2020, I was involved in a golf cart accident. My Lumbar 1 vertebra was 65% crushed. Emergency spine surgery was done on July 1, 2020. I was up walking (gingerly and slowly) the next day! The "good doctor" had fused my Thoracic 12, L1, and & L2 vertebrae with bone cement and 2 rods and 4 screws. It been over 17 months since my accident, and I am back in the gym, playing golf, bowling, and doing things without any issues. In December of 2021, and at the doctor's recommendation, the hardware was removed from my spine. He performed that surgery, as well. I am recovering nicely, and would STRONGLY recommend him to anyone who is looking to have any type of spine surgery done. I call him my "Miracle Man", and as stated above was LUCKY and BLESSED to have him do my surgeries.

Truly the best spine surgeon! 10/10 Stars ?? . I highly recommend Dr. Soo to anyone who is having spine surgery.

Dr. Soo is awesome and perform two of my back surgeries L4&L5 fusion and SI I have three screws and feel a lot better then I did now I only have arthritis in my back which is not bad

Dr Soo performed a microdiscectomy on me. I walked into the hospital in excruciating pain and walked out with very little. I was off all pain meds within a few days after surgery. I highly recommend him.

Dr Mark Kachadurian of Associate in Neurology saw my mri result of my neck.Called Dr Soo right away surgery was plan for the morning. I was told to head southfield e.r right away. Dr Soo was waiting for me to come.I didnt know it was life threatening or even end up paralyzed till these Dr saw my results. Dr soo saved my life in surgery. Dr Kachadurian went above and beyond to get in touch with me.With phone calls and certified mail..I am bless to have both of them as Dr..
