In June of 2019, Dr. Mehta nearly killed me. She refused to listen, or even check my extensive records through Trinity Health, and sent me home on inappropriate antibiotics for my condition. Having pseudomonas pneumonia in both lungs, I was sent home on Augmentin. Two days later, I went to St. Joe's in Ann Arbor, in severe septic shock with ARDS...my family being told the outcome could have been much worse if they would have waited one more hour. I spent 7 days on a vent and months recovering to a functional level. The only oral antibiotics for pseudomonas in the lungs are fluoroquinlones(Cipro and Levaquin), which I'm unable to take. Because the pseudomonas is colonized in my lungs, I'd been on inhalation Tobramycin and IV antibiotics at home many times. I explained I was familiar of the treatment options and what worked in the past. She was angry that I questioned her advice. She is an arrogant, unqualified physician in my opinion.

My mother was admitted to the hospital. Dr. Mehta was her doctor. She did not listen to her symptoms and my mother almost did not make it. She had a serious infection which caused a stroke and ended up needing extensive neuro surgery. This could have been caught if the doctor would have listened to her complaints and symptoms. She never should have had the stroke or the surgery.

Dr Mehta is brilliant in her field. She was able to diagnose my condition so quickly and was extremely thorough with her check up. Her knowledge and expertise is incredible and is also extremely friendly. I would blindly recommend her to anyone out there looking for a great Infectious Disease doc.
