Disappointed in follow up care
My mother in law attended a follow up appointment with Dr Butler on May 1, 2024, for her broken wrist. My mother in law requested a refill for her previously prescribed pain medication. Dr Butler told her he doesn’t prescribe pain medication and she should go to a pain management center for her wrist pain. We explained that he previously prescribed pain medication for her and he denied doing so. What Dr Butler refuses to acknowledge is that we have the original pain prescription bottle listing his name as the prescriber so we’re at a loss as to why he refused to authorize a refill or discuss alternative pain management options. Do not recommend.

I had finger surgery performed by Dr. Butler. My entire experience was superior. He was very thorough, incredibly nice, and made sure I understood my surgery and aftercare. His staff was also wonderful. Everyone was super friendly and made me feel very comfortable and confident in the care I received. I would highly recommend Dr. Butler and his wonderful staff. 5 stars all the way!

An artist
Dr. Butler did an excellent job on treating my wrist fracture. A week after surgery I was in a removable brace and two weeks out I was brace-free. The scar is barely visible and I have good mobility. Dr. Butler is not a person who chatters with patients, but he is caring and helpful and answered all my questions. I would gladly recommend him to others.

I wouldn't recommend him for dog-catcher!
My experience was horrific! I found him arrogant, condescending, and patronizing! He treated me as if my questions were superfluous and my mental acuity was questionable. I needed rotator cuff surgery. His examination consisted of looking at my x-rays, and my age (87) which took less than five minutes. He concluded that nothing could be done. When I questioned his diagnosis, he seemed incredulous. I got the impression he thought his opinion infallible. In contrast, when I went to another orthopedic surgeon, Doctor Joel Thompson, he was the complete opposite! Not only did he assure me that my shoulder could be repaired, but he used a new orthopedic procedure. Two weeks after the operation I have regained the complete use of my arm with almost complete range of motion.

Even during this epidemic, Dr. Butler is always in a good-mood; makes a 'joke' and shares information on getting rid of pain. He's one of the best.

Butler did not hear when I repeatedly stated that my recurring shoulder pain was mild, only lasting one night. My medical records stated that I said my pain was severe. He said I needed immediate surgery to not lose complete use of my shoulder. He offered no alternatives. In fear, I agreed to shoulder replacement. He was only able to do hemi replacement. He told me that the surgery was completely successful. It was not. He did not tell my physical therapy provider or me that I only had hemi. The protocol for therapy for hemi replacement is much slower than for successful surgery. My therapist alerted me that something was wrong. I had to meet with another surgeon to learn the truth. A lawyer told me that I had little chance for winning in court. Buttler appears to be a narcissist who thinks he knows more than anybody else. BEWARE. Get other opinions or avoid him all together. BTW I do have a rare genetic disorder which he did not recognize. My new doctor explained my disorder to me!

Have seen Dr. Butler several times regarding the shoulder, elbow, and hand. Have gone through 2 surgeries with him and he has provided excellent results every time. I am competitive pickleball player and he is very familiar with all PB player's oddities and maladies. The staff at the facility has always been top notch with me and has gone the extra mile with any assistance I have needed.

Dr Butler did nerve release surgery on two nerves that are located near the elbow region. It did relieve the extreme pain I was having. Still dealing with a couple remain issues from my accident. The reason I gave him a 3 star is his does not communicate enough, very little pre-op or post op or even follow through with what issues remain.

If you're looking for preventive advice, I suggest looking elsewhere. I have occasional, mild tennis elbow symptoms from guitar playing and made an appointment to receive advice and recommendations on how to avoid the condition to get worse. Dr. Butler seemed to show very little interest in me, gave brief, spotty answers to my questions and ended the consult without a proper good-bye. Unless you're a candidate for expensive surgery, the practice makes it obvious they have no interest in you.

I just had some wrist work done by Dr. Butler and It was almost a pleasure to have this done by him (except for the cast I had to have on my writing-arm!). He has a delightful bedside-manner and listens to what you are telling him. He is direct about what can be done for your problem and then gives you options. He's also quite funny and makes you feel at ease. needless to say, I love him!!!

I had surgery for Dupuytren's Contracture of the hand by Dr. Butler. I suffered little if any pain during or after the surgery, and the recovery was exceptionally fast (I was typing on the computer with that hand (although slowly) the first day. On the second day, my typing was completely unencumbered after they changed to a smaller bandage. Judging by the results, I feel that Dr. Butler is an excellent surgeon, and the staff at the surgery center was also excellent.

Dr. Butler performed a sagittal band reconstruction on my left hand index finger. I'm a guitar player & thought i'd never play again. Well, it's be about a year and I'm playing again, improving my technique, reinventing my style and my overall approach to the instrument. The injury was horrible but it provided me with the experience of being operated on by a maestro!
