Good surgeon
My 2 year old son had successful bilateral strabismus surgery. His appointments are very quick and to the point. Dr. Lenart is very focused on getting his exam in so helping your child cooperate makes it easier.

Worth the hour drive, couldn't ask for more
From the efficiency of the office staff, to the quickness getting in an exam room, to the actual visit everything is smooth. Dr. Lenart is knowledgeable, friendly, patient, answers questions with direct easy to grasp answers. He is extremely skilled in the surgical realm and made us feel comfortable when our 19 mo old had both eyes operated on.

Disrespectful, Rude doctor
This doctor doesn’t know the meaning of “patient care”. Utterly disrespectful, extremely rude towards kids, and doesn’t share diagnosis clearly. I shared this feedback upfront to him, and I denied recommended surgery for my kid from he as a doctor. I was shocked to see such doctor in United States. This doctor doesn’t deserve any star, but adding 1 star as it’s mandated to submit the review.

Not for young kids
He was rude to both me and my child. We've seen a lot of pediatric providers in multiple specialities, and he was easily the worst. He ignored her and repeated instructions even when we were clearly trying. My daughter is only 2.5 yrs old and she said 'bye bye' 3 times as we left. He just stared at her and escorted us out of the exam room. So bizarre. As a pediatric RN, I know what it takes to work with kids. We're not coming back.

terrible with kids
He is incredibly smart, zero doubts there. He's good at his job, but he raised his voice a few times with my son, has no patience at all with kids, and has no degree of warmth or care to talk to the kid or the parent. He rushes you out of his office every time after he dictates his notes and gives you very little information unless you literally make him pause and probe. Very bright individual, but his personality and how he treats my son is deeply off-putting and unprofessional given that he's a CHILDREN'S eye dr....

This doctor actually saved my life
Dr. Lenart reviewed an MRI taken of my brain at the ER after a bicycle accident that resulted in a subdural hematoma. He discovered a tumor in my eye on the MRI that eventually turned into a melanoma. His prompt action and expertise enabled me to obtain immediate care after my brain surgery, which focused on the melanoma. His saved my eye and likely my life. I am forever grateful!

Poor bedside manner
My daughter (9 yo) has multiple medical issues and having her eyes checked is just one of the many appointments on our list. We've seen Dr Lenhart for 5 or 6 years annually. Each time I've been underwhelmed with how he talks to and treats my daughter. He is very rushed, doesn't introduce himself and doesn't explain what he's doing. He came right at my daughter with a patch to cover her eye without saying a word then seemed annoyed that she wouldn't let him. My daughter hates having her eyes dilated and I told the doctor she was very nervous about it. He told me to just hold her arms while he started in with the eye drops all while my daughter is pleading for him to give her a minute to build up her courage. I had to tell him to stop for a minute several times. Ugh! I'm sorry I have waited so long to decide to move my daughter's care elsewhere! The office staff seems fine and friendly.

Dr. Lenart was incredibly rude right off the bat. I brought my toddler in for an eye exam, and while waiting for the doctor, the exam room became very hot. I stepped into the hallway with my toddler and Dr. Lenart came over. He didn't introduce himself, instead he told us that we weren't allowed in the hallway. I told him we had stepped out due to the heat, and he told us that he didn't write the rules, HIPPA did. I mentioned the heat again and he said then he would just have to go to jail then. I was stunned. He started reading notes from our file, mumbling to himself, then he looked up and said, "so you're not talking to me now?" Apparently he had asked me a question? I told him I was surprised by his comments and he told me that we were free to go somewhere else. I have no idea why he treated us like he did.
